Back in October, gto@2 started an interesting thread about our most beloved diecast pieces – any make, any scale. My choice was the 1/64 ’57 Ford Fairlane hardtop. The Fairlane was the greatest car in a year of great cars. Ford outsold Chevy for the first time in decades.
Mustangman posted that the ’57 was also one of his favourites and he’d been looking for a hardtop casting for years. A trade was soon born and, more importantly, a good friendship too.
Mustangman’s talent for creating cool dioramas has impressed me a lot so, in trade for the Fairlane, I asked for a small sample of his skills some time 'down the road' whenever he was creating some new items. I hoped for something like an oil rack, or a stack of tires and a jack, something like that, to help me in creating some diorama magic of my own. I slipped a bonus car or two into the box to keep the Fairlane company.
Imagine my surprise and delight this week when a package from Mustangman arrived at my door. Inside, in addition to an incredible assortment of ROAKs, I was overwhelmed to find these realistic beauties that Mustangman had shown photos of here on HobbyTalk. Not only good-looking, but well-crafted too. The trailer rolls smooth as velvet and I can almost hear the compressed air of the tire changer breaking down that bead.

Thank you, Mustangman, for keeping the HobbyTalk spirit alive and well. Dioramas, here I come!
