View Full Version : Lipo speed control siggy99x 12-02-2007, 10:45 PM Do you need a special esc to run Lipo packs brian0525 12-02-2007, 10:56 PM not if you are running 2s1p packs. unless you are going to run all the way until it dumps then maybe look for one that has the Lipo voltage cut off so you won't ruin your cells. You can also buy an add-on cut off from many companys for like $20 if you want use a speedo without it built in! DARKSCOPE001 12-02-2007, 10:56 PM no any esc will do. but the advantage to most modern escs is that they have a li-po cutoff which means that they can be set so that when the voltage on your lipoly battery gets to low the esc will turn itself off preventing over discharging ;thus, damage to the cells. but you can do the same thing yourself. if your are care full and watch the car and make sure that you dont run it to long then you wont have to worry about HOPE THIS HELPS Sean Scott siggy99x 12-02-2007, 11:49 PM Thanks so i can run the novak lipo cutoff with my tekin g 10 pro and it will be ok? nutz4rc 12-03-2007, 09:13 PM I run the Novak cutoff with my Novak GTX and it works fine with the Orion Lipo I use. I tested it with a discharged NIMH and the blue light came on so I know it works OK. TeamGoodwrench 12-03-2007, 09:39 PM The LRP Sphere Competition has a LiPo mode that will cut-off , but I have no idea what that cut-off is. I'm going to run mine for the first time with at 3200 LiPo pack and 21.5 motor. Does anyone know what the Sphere cuts off at in LiPo mode ?? Thx. swtour 12-04-2007, 03:24 AM no, but I know if you run it in LIPO mode with a 4 cell NIMH...
