I had a problem with no idle on the grand daughters go cart. This is the fixed jet version oif the Tec carb but the idle jet is accessible after removing the plastic plug. It is plugged pretty solid. Question is what is the size suppose to be. Smallest drill I have is .040 which is probably too big. I can not seem to break it loose with .025 wire. Is it smaller than .025? I don't want to force anything and ruin the jet. I have checked the service manuals which do not state what the size is. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you're talking about the idle passage being plugged, couldn't you put the carb in a good carb dip for a couple of hours to dissolve ?
jus an idea,
thanks,

I have the idle jet soaking now. Was able to get some flow thru the jet by using a safety pin. Maybe the hole is that small!! Just the very point of the pin went thru. When I apply a vacuum to it, it drops rapidly. Will see how it works after soaking a few hours. Thanks for the idea!

Here's where you can download the Tec service manual to cover your engine, carb:
