Awesome cars actually. They do require a twist to the average driving style. Imagine a go-cart with a big block Chevy for power!! And they sliiiiiiide through the corners quite nicely!! Woo Hoo!! Look out!! Rubin' is Racin'!!! They definitely are a breath of fresh air in the midst of glued to the rails rockets and the "Oooo, don't touch me" wider lanes are better whiners!!! waltgpierce 11-25-2007, 04:13 PM Our Club purchased over two dozen of them a while back. However, due to the difficulty (or difference) of driving these and the continuous adjustments required, our Club members voted not to add these as a race Class. The Riggens require consider tweaking to get them to run properly. The wipers for the pickup shoes need to be adjusted just right and can be bent quite easily in a crash. Additionally, some Lead weighting really helps the handling of these cars. OF course, the additional weight only adds to the problem of easy coasting and no braking of these cars. These are high-horsepower cars that need BIG tracks with sweeping corners. BTW: All of our Club tracks are routed tracks in the 16 ft to 22 ft length. Given all that, I enjoy running the Riggens. They require a completely different driving style. But, when you get the car tweaked properly and learn to drive them, they are fun. 1scalevolvo 11-25-2007, 11:30 PM I remember the Original HO Riggen cars from the old days . In 1972 during my misspent youth, I took the D train to Church Ave where a now defunct department store had Riggen HO cars on sale for....... $3.00 a pop ! :( & to think I only bought the one ! Arrrghhhhh :hat: But I still have now after 35 yrs, a metallic green Firebird Neal :dude: videojimmy 11-27-2007, 02:49 PM I have a few old and a few new Riggens. I have a love/hate relationship witrh them. I liked the new wheelie wagon they put out. I bought one, it was very expensive ($200) but it's very cool vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
