I am new to q scale. I wish I knew a bit more about setup. I raced 10th scale for 18 years, but this is a different animal! I have a lightning that the former owner was successful with on this track. It is loose especially coming out of turn two. outside and inside temps of tires are all within 8 degrees on all 4 tires. Any setup pointers?

1st thing is make sure your Shocks are not leaking shock oil, These Shocks are prone to leaking and are fixed with a little teflon tape on the Threads

if shocks are Ok....and assuming Ride height is OK and you are running the Correct compound Tire and not over 1 inch Stagger

Depends on how loose.....Since you Tire temp looks Good your Camber should be Close

Try going up on Right Rear Spring 1/2 turn to not over a full turn, this will tighten the car up a little..

Don't go so much that the car rolls over on the right rear,

if you need more go down 1/2-1 turn on left Rear or Right Front

If everything else is good this should work for you......

also make sure you swaybar is free when sitting on all 4's

Remember if the track is dirty it will be loose...No matter what you do also track Temperature comes into Play...Cold track = Loose condition

Make sure your left Rear is Straight ahead no Tow and Right Rear is towed in 1/8

also 1/8 Tow out in Front

Good Luck

This was Jeff's car. He ran a truck body on it, though.

That is good info on the rear tow in. I am not used to that type of adjustment. As I said before, I raced 10th scale for years. in 10th there aren't that many rear adjustments. Its a new world!

I only live 10 minutes from the track. With a little help, hopefully i can figure it out!

Hopper check the rear toes on the car. I ran that car at easley last and I run alot of rear steer in the car there. I like alot of rear steer in the car and you may not this is what I ran with the car body. You may want to set both rear wheels stright. At clover I run the left at 3/16 toe in and the right side stright. At easley I run the left at 1/4toe in and the right at 1/16 to 1/8 toe out. You don't need that at Clover with the wide corners. You will be a little loose off two because there is no banking in two and four has a little banking. Give me a call if you need any help with the car. We will be racing at the suger bowl on Dec. 1st. You and Ron need to get together and I can help you at the track.

Thanks, Jeff. We had alot of fun out there yesterday. Ron is getting MUCH better. He is getting very consistent, by the time spring comes he will be pretty darn good. I need help to catch him!

as Mr. garrison once said on "south park" -----there are no stupid questions, just stupid people who ask questions. so at the risk of sounding stupid, here comes a couple of questions.

Question 1-- between the front of the rear trailing arm and the frame on the left side there are two washers. On the right side there is one. Is this correct?

Question 2-- in tenth scale I have always ran the left front A arm a little further toward the back than the right. would this help in Q scale, as well?

Give me a call there is alot more to it than that. We need to go to the track together and set down and I will show you how to check all of the different toes, cambers, casters, roll center and all that mess. 864-449-2319 We will be in Georgia tomorrow woking on the Suger Bowl track getting ready for the race Dec.1 race.

Thanks, Jeff. I will not be able to run it for about two weeks. I have alot going on. But I'll give you a call next week.

I have a good knowledge of spring adjustments and camber adjustments. It's caster and toe in that I need help with!
