prayingmantis 11-30-2007, 10:09 AM Are those carded Redlines?
Yes they are! It's kinda amazing how many carded redlines are still around.
Can't tell what the price is on that carded purple Seasider. I have one loose and would like to know what it goes for carded.
terry9911 11-30-2007, 01:43 PM s/c ramber possibly with the 390 c.i. engine
cih1979 12-05-2007, 12:45 AM I just zoomed in on that price for the purple seasider............. $275 :(
cih1979 12-05-2007, 12:48 AM on the bright side the heavy chevy in the bottom left hand corner is only $500!
terry9911 12-05-2007, 09:59 AM If I could only win the lotto and then go in there. I'd love to buy the Spoilers which are priced at $400. and $500. in the bottom left corner
Guntownal 12-05-2007, 07:09 PM I was at that show on Sunday, I thought most of the redlines were overpriced.
I usually pick up a few there but didn't get any this year.
I did get a Matchbox Kingsize tandem hopper truck in decent shape.
JasonZ 12-05-2007, 09:45 PM Thats pretty expensive
cih1979 12-07-2007, 01:41 AM As i said on another forum i set up to sell at that show, didnt even make back my table fee. I couldnt stay for sunday because i had to work. EVERYTHING WAS OVERPRICED!! i saw a guy walking around with super TH's asking $50 and most supers were going for $35 and up. sad thing is, i couldnt sell series 1 and 2 classics for 2 bucks a piece with protecto packs. oh well, since i didnt make any money i only ended up buying one car, and that was from the guys behind me who were selling nascar stuff and they happened to have 2 hotwheels both were T-Bird Stockers collector #88 i gave em 3 bucks for it. I did however end up making SEVERAL kids days by giving them super deals. If u want to buy good stuff from me send your kids to my table ;) i was practically giving them away to the kiddies, but i will say even though a couple of the "serious" dealers actually went out of their way to tick me off by making comments on the cars i had brought, the guys behind me helped me keep my spirits up and i really did have fun. Richard Petty even showed up and it looked like he was having a blast, even when no one had stopped to look in an hour he was still smiling!!!

Loose one would fetch in mint condition close to a $1000 bucks, yes thats right. one of the tougher colors to get.
Firebirds 12-07-2007, 05:56 PM that bp seasider is magenta.
cih1979 09-16-2011, 12:38 AM can't sleep thought i would resurrect this one from the vaults.....WOW have my priorities changed. it's amazing what becoming a father will do to you ;)

Congrats!
It's amazing what this economy has done to the prices of those redlines and $upers, too :p
sschevyman1 09-20-2011, 05:38 PM Yeah and I saw You at that show back then!!! Times do change
Mike(^RacerX^) 09-21-2011, 01:04 AM Wow.............Just checked the date on the thread.:o
If you were sellin' back then, and I was, there was money to be made.
Now,not nearly as much.
Funny tho............There seems to be a never ending supply of redlines out there.
Not a week goes by that someone isnt finding a case of them in an attic,or at an estate sale, etc.
They made a heck of a lot of them back then.Amazing how they are STILL turning up.
Mike
cih1979 09-21-2011, 08:59 AM I wonder if this show will be in november again this year i might go check it out. I didnt get to look for long since i was selling. I will NEVER do that again, (sell at a show) i got rid of all my overflow and i have all that i want or really need now. I made the mistake of thinking this was a way to make money instead of looking at it as a hobby back then. Like i said my priorities changed, reality set in and i said WOW i have been an IDIOT ;) my money is so tight right now that i have passed up lots of nice stuff, just because i think to myself do i really need that? Plus my son has inherited nearly all of my loose diecast that is 10 years old or newer, just because i hated to tell him no. But i think i have finally opened the door to becoming an ADULT collector. and it's much less stressful
SMS88 09-24-2011, 01:21 PM Amazing to see all those redlines! Trouble with these sort of events is that most folks who go already have all the common stuff and only want the scarce variations to complete their collections. Its no joke not making back your table fee, which has happened to me once, so now I only sell online and mostly through toy forums.
JLWFAN 11-03-2011, 08:07 PM Looks to be a 65 Rambler had one when i was bout 17 only in red and not as nice!! lol
