After 9 of the 10 series races for the '07 SWTour R/C Oval Series 3 of the 4 championships have been secured.
Cagy old veteran BUCK VAN PATTEN will win his FIRST SWTour Championship in the STOCK class. Buck, a long time master in the Stock class on the VELODROMES really shined this year at the Metro R/C Speedway and the Bending Corners Raceway carpet track too to take his championship with force.
In our 'Limited' 10.5 brushless class, Scot Petitclerc will repete as this years champion going back to back for 2 in a row. Petitclerc has mathmatically eliminated 2nd place Larry Ruby and can breathe easy going into the final race at the Encino Velodrome in December.
The Modified class had small showings all year, but that didn't detract 1st time CHAMPION Richard Tompkins for giving is his all. Tompkins faught hard all year long against Scot Petitclerc, Brad Muther and Steve Jacquez. Richard ran a personal best at Metro this month securing his championship spot, and earning his place into the 2008 **Allstar-Shootout**.
Our 4th and final class, Brushless NASTRUCK is still a 3 man race. Points leader Brad Muther saw his point lead get chopped down at Metro last weekend when Bryan Myers (who was in third place) took the bonus TQ point and won the A main earning maximum points. This brought Myers to within 2 points of Muther, and John Miles is just 3 points behind the leader. This will make for an exciting battle at the season finale in Encino December 8th.
This season saw a lot of testing for changes coming forth for the 08 season, but it still provided some great racing in all classes.
