View Full Version : Epay Observation

A while back I started a thread concerning a particular Tomy Super G+ (On The Spot Indy car) and stated that I hadn't ever seen it on epay and couldn't find it for sale anywhere else.

Suddenly the next week, one pops up and sells for $110. Then another appeared and only sold for $67!

Right now, there are three up for sale with one still in the blister pack! That makes a total of five having gone up for bids in the last month. I just find it funny and interesting how something appears and sells for a good chunk of change and then others start coming out of the woodwork hoping to cash in as well. But guess what? It drives the price down because they're suddenly "saturating" the marketplace with them.

I don't have any idea. The first link I posted was the first time I've ever seen one. There's a couple of Munster Mobiles listed too.

Two of them WERE DC cars and converted. The third (on a JL chassis) is a resin cast, pulled from a custom widened and extremely puttied master body...and all except one (100 laps) have just a few laps around the track!...There is Boosa again...leading the pack! (His, btw was two bods, cut lengthways to get two bigger halves to fit over the slimline chassis. ( I spent several hours grinding mine out and burning the crap outa my fingers to make it fit, eh, silly me!) The glass is a custom piece. It is wider also.)

I wonder if Boosa will get stiffed for the money? I hope not!

A quick glance at the bid list is all it takes in this case. We again see noobs and a tiger shark in the tank.

Hopefully someones Karma will catch up to them...It'd be nice to expidite it.

I like the fact there is lots of JL castings in the background!!! Just screams JL on slimline.

Looks like someone is taking lessons from Boosa on how to list a slot car?

I have no idea what this really is, but I know I don't want to send him 22.00 of my hard-earned slot budget, eh!

It's hard to tell if its one of slot car johnny's or something else, I love the "check out the picture", the back of the car is blurred.
I have bought from hawkeye and have had no problems, but I do see the "lets catch ourselves a weiner" listing style and don't like it.

Dunno guys???

Some how I dont find this as offensive as others. Seven bucks er so above retail on a BIN... right? Hard to compare that to the $700 dollar fleecing that poor schlub took on the Dragula car.

HOWEVER! What I do find funny, amongst his other listings, is the "Nicely done green XKE". All the detail has been filled and smoothed, which really is not a bad look... but ya'd think they'd have wasted a little filler up around the roof where the pillars were garged out! Not to mention it looks like it was drug under our rec room couch before the photo session.

I could see a mopar nut parting with some coin for the orange charger...but 25 bux for a pitkit refugee XKE?????

Something odd is going on here, eh.

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2

This is the poor "schlub" that took boosas' 700.00 fleecing.
He has 25 feedback, starting on 11-11-07, yet his profile says he has been a member since 7-21-05, right? Our own Wes has even sold him a car, but still.....a couple of his winnings look odd to me. If this cat has been around the 'bay for two years, why is he bidding up fairly common slot cars? Is he a "boosa buddy"? His wife? Just the name alone sugjests a play on words.
"Goofette" goof + ette. Someone is playing games here, yeah?

I am willing to bet that boosa has a whole fistful of user names and accounts on the 'bay that were opened a long time ago to establish legitimacy, only it is a bit hard for him to keep up with. It is fun to speculate.
Anyone care to call the CIA and tell them that this boosa fellow is selling secrets? I bet they will poke around in his computer for a while. :jest:
