The newest addition to my collection is also one of the oldest items i own. I can see that this Scenecruiser is a mid- 1950s design, and I guess the toy has to be from the 50 or 60s???? It cost me $18, a bargain I think. How rare is this item? It looks similar but much larger than the famous Lesney casting

That bus is from the 60s, it's not that rare, but a nice buy. In the 60s Tootsietoy really put out a lot of cars. There are two versions of that bus, one with the open bottom and one with a closed buttom. You got a good buy.

I beleive the 1/1 GMC Scenecruiser came out in about '65 give or take one year.
Lemme check - hold on...
edit: Nope - way off. 1954 was the first. And it's spelled Scenicruser.
Thanks for showing it!

The old Greyhound Scenicruiser had a very distintive style.
I rode on the Greyhound Scenicruiser several times when I was young.

I only rode a Greyhound bus once. From Dayton OH to Cocoa FL in 32 hrs. We must have hit every one horse town in between.
It wasn't a bad ride until some joker up front took his shoes off. It smelled like parmesian cheese clear to the back of the bus :(

In coaches with sealed windows, and only the driver having an opening window, anybody who farts sitting anywhere inside the bus is going to entertain the driver, so a friend who is a coach driver told me (its the worst part of his job :( )
