I have an older fantom dyno with an older laptop computer with a 9 pin serial port, my problem is under windows all works fine but under a dos shell or rebooted under dos I get no data and the dyno motor does not spin. I tried setting the ports differently but no help.

I thiink my software my be bad

If I remove the infer-red drivers can I set com to 1?

sounds like the program is corrupt, try to reload the program, no reason to use inferred drivers if you are using the com port.

Thank you for your help PUF19, I removed the infer red drivers and manually made serial port com 1 and rebooted the computer and windows said found new infer red device and made it com 2.
the only question is I do not beleave there is a infer red card in the computer but the dyno is working fine in a dos window and rebooted under dos...
