OK...With predictions of the Diecast Market shrinking for 2008 and with the expectation that some companies will go away as they fight to win sales from each other...I found it very interesting and aggressive of GL to reduce the cost of GLs at Target (at least at the Leesburg, VA store) from $3.99 to $3.89. I know a dime is not much, but when JL is going up to $4.14 and $4.44 respctively, I gotta say now GLs are at minimum .25 cents cheaper. I think I know who will win that match from the collector as well as the occasional Mommy purchase.

Stay Tuned.

I noticed that Greenlight was reduced to $3.89 when I was at TARGET last week when I started a thread that JL car were raised to $4.14 from $3.99.

With Mac Reagan going to Greenlight and TARGET and K-MART selling Greenlight cars less than JL cars it looks very promising for Greenlight.

The cars I've bought lately have all been GL. Somebody dropped the diecast ball and they were there to pick it up!

That is good news. I hope that it is not because the product is not moving. I see a lot of GL on the pegs but I only look at Target about every two or three weeks so it could be new product.

They seem to be doing pretty good around here. MCG5 flew off the pegs except the silver Camaro Concept. The Barrett Jackson series are selling slowly but they are moving.

This is crazy. That is very close to what I pay for the cars wholesale. Guess they only care about big-box chain stores and not us little hobby shop guys. If it gets any cheaper, I'm going to have to show up at Target with the scalpers to try to get stock for my place!!

I agree. Although I no longer have my store I do buy wholesale to sell at car shows.

I still thinks its too expensive for a toy car. American Grafitti cars are 1.50 and their detail arent bad (quaility cant beat GL)

The K-Marts in my area are all selling GL's at $3.58! I love it!!!

please do not complain too much.
No way to find GL or JL in supermarkets on this side of the ocean. Only HW and very poor choice. Even at TRU.

Have you checked with Henri at Tiny Toys?

He has stuff that makes me drool.

Let's not forget, not only is the price going up but when I look at the 2008 offerings, a flocked Suburban with fuzzy green shamrocks, A Daisy Duke Zinger Plymouth, matte black Tillie mustang and cars with colored rims and tires makes me think somebody doesn't have their hand on the pulse. A higher priced offering with what in my opinion is inferior quality and style means my cash goes to somebody else. My last name isn't Lightning so I buy accordingly. For every stride I see GL take it looks to me that JL takes a step back. That's two steps each time. Do the math.

Lastly, I have no reason to pay upwards of 5.00 for a Hot Wheel which is the direction one is headed. If I wanted to do that, I'd buy 7 HW's instead. Just my opinion

 What a well worded statement. Even without planning to, I see a huge shift in my buying choices as of late. It's not just that GL came on the scene with great cars, it's JL seems to have left the scene with a vingence! :(

Perfectly put. Stores near me barely have Jls and they're all $5. I can go to Meijer and see 5-6 pegs full of GLs for a lower price. Wonder which one im going to chose

Yep.. I agree... The stores near me all have the same castings of the same car(like 10 of them) and they never get newer ones either. Atleast there are newer GL's

GL needs to expand their car selection for me to give them more of my $. There needs to be more than just muscle cars.
