Quickly becoming a popular class on the Bullring @ Trax70, Spec Modifieds or Spec SK. We're allowing only the Excalibur Spec SK kit along with 4 cell spec batteries, Spec Motors with spec brushes. We've had 8+ entries and have recently sold 5 more kits in the last couple weeks to new racers...

Getting new people racing, that is what it is all about. A low cost, equal form of racing. It is the best way to introduce R/C to new and old people alike. Great job done by Patrick, Dave and Charlie at the Bullring@ track 70.

Yeah Jim,
with a car as simple and cost effective as your spec kit it's become a really FUN class yet still competitive. along with a dozen 13.5 pan cars our turnouts have been great!

Question for the guys at the Bullring.Do you guys allow any traction compound/tire conditioner at all on your track?? John at GMX uses the same foam-tile track at GMX.Curious what kind of results you have. Thanks

We've traditionally allowed just TQ products, or any non odor causing traction... only once allowed paragon when we couldn't get any Traction in the shop, results are much like carpet, the tiles seem to be very tire friendly, several combinations work...only issue I've had with the tiles is if left down through the summer, in an unconditioned space there must be room for expansion, in a couple spots they bowed up from the heat in the building. Just trimmed them down and were good to go ..

Does tire traction compound eat up the track?

nope ... doesn't eat it up... we're on our third season on this surface and it has worked great for us! We opted for it over carpet because the floor is not smooth underneath it, and the cost of a new floor or subfloor was too much of an initial investment, the carpet would not have lasted as it would probably worn through the high spots or been torn. the layer of foam takes up some of the imperfections in the floor...
