heres 2 out of the 3 big new beetles i have , the white is a 2000 turbo automatic, originally given away from cracker jacks , back in 2000, my wife is an avid cincinnati reds fan and a huge johnny bench fan , and she doesnt share the love for vws like i do , but when i showed her a picture of one of these cars back in 2000 she said ,, thats the only vw i would ever drive ,, so the challenge was on , i found one in poor condidtion in june 06 out in new jersey , went and picked it up , and have been bringing it back to life since ,the red beetle wit hthe subtle flame job is my 99 ive had it since nov of 1998 , he has several mods to him but the engine is mostly stock and he has 204,000 k miles on him , he gets driven from columbus to marysville most ever day for work , and has made the trip to roswell new mexico for the annual new beetle convention 4 times ,on to california 2 times including rt 66 2 times , florida 4 or 5 times ,and all over the eastern usa for shows or to visit kids at college etc . my latest addidtion is a bone stock 98 new betle i call buckwheat , hes needin some serious lovin , he already has had a engine transplant since coming home , his old 2.0 motor had a 50 cent piece size hole in the back of the block and only 3 pistons when i tore him down ,so he will be a rat rod beetle here soon and will take over the daily ride to marysville so herbie (the red beetle ) can retire and get cleaned up for shows permantly ,,oh the wifes beetle is named Homer
