Hi I HAve a Yerf dod gocart it ust to have an 6.5 tecumci engine and i swaped it out with an old water pump engine i got from my friend its an 11 horse honda gx340 n i already lifted my gocart 4 inches in the back and have redone sum frame work but i have also put an uni air filter and a custom built a header with 1inch exhast pipe and have an super trap clone muffler tip but it still isnt to fast and i would love to know if anyone could help me out with that i want to know if there any kinds of mods i can do to my honda to get it faster n maybe wut kind of gearing i should run it at

Keep in mind that these engines are governed for top speed. With this in mind the top speed of a 5 hp engine and an 11 hp engine will be the same as long as the load does not exceed what the engine is capable of propelling.

Acceleration will be faster for the higher horsepower engine, but top speed will not. After all 3600 rpm's is only going to propel your cart at the speed the gear ratio produces.

You can try a torque converter and that may give you more top end speed. Simply changing your gear ratio will give you more top speed as with an 11 hp engine you do not need it geared down as low to get it going as you may have needed with the lower hp engine.

Then you need to change to a smaller final drive sprocket on your axle to increase your top end...
