View Full Version : A message to Greenlight!!!
NEEKAVELI 11-05-2007, 11:28 PM If you guys keep on with this same old story of not putting Green Machines in Master Cases it will not be good in the long run. I am not sour that I did not get one, but many people are and they buy lots and lots of Master cases. If they continue buying bulk from you guys it will get ugly once they get cut short on there orders. It happened to one mainline 1/64 Diecast company who since has not been able to sell Master Cases like they once were able to. Like I said guys who are not able to go to the stores because of their lifestyle , job, homelife , etc.. buy these Master cases just to get a Green Machine. Yeah, I am sure that the product will sell in the stores that actually even carry them. I'm sure you don't care that I am saying this, but ot will wake up alot of people and might steer some people another direction. I have to say as for me you just lost a customer, and so did my distributor . I would at least upto 10 Master cases myself, but after this experience I do not think I will be buying anymore. It's unfair to spend hundreds of dollars and not get a damn Green Machine. What's the point? It make no sense at all. Not everyone will have my luck , but I know there are people out there who definitly feel the same way. In the end, if you are going to mass produce these than good luck. I could be wrong, but you have lost a customer for now.

astroking2 11-05-2007, 11:35 PM I'm surprised that a green machine was not in a master case. Thought it was the norm with these new cases. Since they make so many green machines now...
I'm sad to see this as well. :(

That is naive to think that in the first place. It's simple mathematics, really. Following the law of averages, one out of every 25 master cases will NOT have a Green Machine. That is assuming that NO master case gets two or more inners that contain a Green Machine.
Furthermore, the increase in number of Green Machines has nothing to do with, well, ANYTHING. Not when GM's are STILL only produced at 2% of the total run. The increase is due solely to the increase in production of REGULAR cars. 2% is still 2%. There is still only ONE Green Machine produced for every 50 cars. There are still only 48 cars in each and every master case.
NOTHING has changed.........
macnut 11-06-2007, 12:16 AM How can you honestly think Greenlight can say there's a Green Machine in every master case? They stated before that there is not one in every master case. That would be like RC2 saying there is a White Lightning in every master case. Heck, the way the Whites are coming out this year you might get one every 5 masters. If you want to guarantee yourself a Green Machine and don't want to put in the leg work go to E-bay. If your spending hundreds of dollars and not getting a greenie you can spend hundreds on E-bay and have several in your mail box.

First off, if I bought a master case, I WOULD be the one NOT getting a Green Machine. That is the luck I have with them. I seriously swear, out of 26 or 27 times I have either opened a GL case (inner-12 cars) or been the first to 12 freshly stocked cars on the pegs, I have found ONE Green Machine. YES, I SAID ONE!!!!
But I digress.............
With production holding at 2% of the run, nothing has changed since Day 1. When cars are boxed, IF every 50th car inserted into an inner is a Green Machine, there is NO way every case can have a GM. The average still is that one out of every 25 will not. It was like that when production was 2500 cars and is STILL like that when production is 10,000 cars. It just happens 4x as often with a 10K production run.
YES, I think it sucks if you plunk down the $$$ to buy a master case and you are the one who does not get a Green Machine. BUT, I assert if you are an INFORMED buyer, you should know the odds going in that it COULD indeed happen to you. I don't recall GL ever promising a GM if you bought a master case (unless you're talking special PROMO items).
Am I wrong here?

Except maybe Nicko's luck!
Sorry Nicko!
NEEKAVELI 11-06-2007, 12:45 AM I agree with some stuff said here, and it's tough because everyone will have their own opionion. Not everyone will go and take this chance so it reallu doesn't matter what people think , right. I guess you have to experiece this. By the way MACNUT, I do not read every post bro, so how was I supposed to know that they said this. If that were the case then how come every case until now had a Green Machine in it. I have bought tons of these things, but I guess that has come to an end. It's time to go to ebay if you really want a Specific Greenie, I guess. Good luck to those who by those Masters.

Nicko,
Respectfully, every case until now did NOT have a GM in it! Just because every case you previously bought, or your distributor or anyone else you know, DID have a GM, that does not equate to every master case having a GM. All that is, is supposition without foundation. Like I said earlier, it is SIMPLE mathematics. Given production and the manner in which the cars are packed, since Day 1 it has been IMPOSSIBLE for every master case to contain a GM. NO ONE can LOGICALLY argue otherwise!! This has NOTHING to do with my "opinion." The numbers DO NOT lie!!

Drdealone 11-06-2007, 05:28 AM Nicko,
Sorry to hear of your experience. Hopefully if you try again in the future your luck will change. Either way I know you will continue to buy / trade and sell the sweetest GM's out there :) Thanks for some great trades in the past.
Regards, DrDeal
NYSWLHUNTER 11-06-2007, 01:10 PM Hmm flip the coin. who has found 2 gms in one master??? raise your hand if you did-pierre raises his right hand. theres no logic in random distribution-well maybe the logic that there is no logic
FastC6Vette 11-06-2007, 03:13 PM I have to agree with Joejames and also think that if you are buying master cases JUST for the Green Machine, it would be better just to buy the ones you want off of eBay. Even if you pay higher prices, it would still be cheaper than tying up all the money in a master case and trying to sell the 47 regulars you have left for a discounted price.
astroking2 11-06-2007, 05:29 PM I, as well, have received a green machine in each and every master case I have opened.
If this is the case that a green machine will not be in every case, then I have been fooled into thinking so b/c I have always found one.
Glad to know the truth now.

I'm not so sure that they are still 2% of the run. Promos are up to 10% green machines, so your point is invalid there.
Anyways, not sure why you have to jump down my throat about it.
mikeslightnings 11-06-2007, 08:16 PM Hey Nicko--I feel for you, my man--I had bought 22 cases of Johnny Lightning Dukes of Hazzard R2. I sold 4 cases, at cost, to a buddy of mine and he pulled the ONLY WL out of the 22 cases--Needless to say, I was pissed; but it is the chance that we all take. We all know that WL #'s are WAAAAAAY down, for those that do NOT know the FACTS.
GL had also stated that they NO longer guarantee a GM in evey Master as they cannot control what happens in packing over in China; but that there should be one. I roll the dice like you, my friend, and I have won some and I have lost some, it is like a Lotto ticket, especially if you are in it just to re-sell them. I bulid collections with mine--Good-Luck to you and ALL others in the future---Thanks, mikeslightnings
macnut 11-06-2007, 11:22 PM Hey Nicko, I found the post from Greenlight I was talking about last night. If you want to check it out stay on the Green Machine forum, go to page 8 and find the post that reads "The offical word on Green Machines". Maybe then you will see what I was talking about last night.
NEEKAVELI 11-07-2007, 12:11 AM Likw this Guy Mikelightnings says we all take a chance, so it's on everyone including me who takes a chance, but it is still very frustrating. I have bought JL Cases, and that's a different story. I bought 10 cases of dukes series 2 and not one white lightning, but I was able to sell these the same way that I will get off these GL'S. In the end I took the chance like I gamble on other stuff, and I was unfortunate and got 3 greens out of four masters. The ones I got were the ..... castings. Oh well , " Life Goes on "/ Good luck to all "
Thanks

I bought 6 masters and got 6 GM`s.When I purchased these I was quaranteed a GM with each one[BJ #1].
I then heard that not every master would include 1 so I`ll no longer order a master at all, mainly because I only collect a few castings anyways.I sell all of the unwanted cars from my orders which is about 90% of what I order.
I`ve actually come out better buying my GM`s on the bay after a month or so when the prices fall.
We all know that WL #'s are WAAAAAAY down, for those that do NOT know the FACTS.
What makes you say that WL numers are way down? Share the info
nascar4al 11-07-2007, 11:51 PM I know this is green machine forum, but G G asked. WLs had crept up to "near" 3%. With the new packaging, WLs were going to be "closer" to 1%.
That is about 1/2 to 2/3 less WLs for any given series. My source - Mac Ragan. This year will be the fewest WLs I have found than any of the last 6 years.
fuddmiester 11-08-2007, 03:48 PM I piss away money on instant lotery tickets and win squat! Nothing gauranteed get over it.
NEEKAVELI 11-08-2007, 04:09 PM I hit up the Casino's all the time and that's no Joke. I get brole off!!!
