Next SATURDAY (Nov 10) the SWTour heads back to the ONLY Capped Tire Short Track in the South-West.

METRO R/C SPEEDWAY in Bakersfield CA plays host to the 9th stop on the '07 SWTour schedule.

Most of the WEST COAST drivers find METRO a little challenging, since we only visit there a small handful of times during the year...add to that the fact that traction is low, and getting the cars hooked up can prove to be difficult.

The METRO Track is an egg shaped, high banked bull ring with approx a 240 ft. runline (if memory serves correctly on the size) and lap times should be in the 4.7-4.8 range in the LIPO/17.5 class, and during testing at the August event at Metro the 21.5/LIPO debut ran almost as fast.

...this weekends visit to METRO R/C Speedway was another fun filled r/c oval race...

We suffered a whole lot less carnige this trip and the racing was pretty decent all around. (Thanks to NO forest fire ASH in the air and on the track)

Although the turnout was small...the racing was good. 25 entries made up the 4 classes, and 3 championships were pretty much locked up, leaving just a battle in the NASTRUCK class.

Truck Point leader Brad Muther saw the battle tighten up just a little. John Miles and Bryan Myers are fighting hard to catch Muther...Miles who TQ'd and set a NEW Record last month at the VELODROME and took the main win closed things up really tight...and this month Myers TQ and feature win made it even closer. I believe Muther's points lead is now 2 points over Myers and 3 points over Miles so it will all come down to the season finale in December on the VELODROME... GOOD LUCK TO ALL~
