MIDWESTRC 11-03-2007, 05:24 PM Any word on where and when Carpet Nats will be , also Paved Nats. ? jflack 11-04-2007, 10:14 PM LOL.... I was just wondering the dates because I need to get my vacation dates turned in next month. Dawn Sanchez 11-07-2007, 12:28 PM as stated, ROAR never announces the venues until at least mid November when all 10 of the nationals can be verified as to dates and expectations from both sides.... sorry guys... its not an over night thing. I hate it too.. since Carpet Nats are so early in the new year... we need a better system.. that's for sure. Nope.. sorry... :) JH Racing 11-18-2007, 01:08 AM Nope.. sorry... :) Ok Last Question will it be on the eastcoast? Dawn Sanchez 11-19-2007, 05:00 PM Ok Last Question will it be on the eastcoast? East, Mid or West.... one of the three. :) pavedovalracer 11-19-2007, 07:50 PM And ROAR wonders why there entries are lacking. Here it is almost december and no races have been announced. People actually have real jobs that they have to put their vacation in early! MIDWESTRC 11-19-2007, 11:17 PM I agree, but we will still be there. Last year was a great race. Hope this year is the same. JH Racing 11-20-2007, 01:15 AM East, Mid or West.... one of the three. :) Well that sums it up the last time I was at a National the official made no major calls and sat in a corner and listened to a IRL race. Dawn Sanchez 11-20-2007, 01:55 PM Well that sums it up the last time I was at a National the official made no major calls and sat in a corner and listened to a IRL race. now, now...... I can't really post what you ask because.... the decision is just now being made.... I am sorry and I hate the delay myself... but no use in beating up somebody who's trying to help you... :) What IRL race? And who... possibly.... could have done that during a national event when they were the official... sorry, I don't buy that one. :) :) :) davepull 11-20-2007, 06:54 PM question I have is do people actually watch the IRL? lol don't worry Dawn you should no by now the messanger always get shot!! lol Just let us know asap. and it's going to be the carpet nats at Minnreg in Largo FL right :) lol HobbyPLEX 11-20-2007, 07:02 PM Or at the Hobbyplex in Omaha  davepull 11-20-2007, 07:05 PM yah your place is sweet. MIDWESTRC 11-20-2007, 11:13 PM Carpet nats and BRL nats at Hobbyplex. You guys are going to be busy if that happens!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: JH Racing 11-22-2007, 08:07 PM now, now...... I can't really post what you ask because.... the decision is just now being made.... I am sorry and I hate the delay myself... but no use in beating up somebody who's trying to help you... :) What IRL race? And who... possibly.... could have done that during a national event when they were the official... sorry, I don't buy that one. :) :) :) Well you obiously were not there either so you don't have to buy it. jflack 11-23-2007, 11:04 PM as stated, ROAR never announces the venues until at least mid November when all 10 of the nationals can be verified as to dates and expectations from both sides.... sorry guys... its not an over night thing. I hate it too.. since Carpet Nats are so early in the new year... we need a better system.. that's for sure. Was that Mid Nov or Mid 2008????? JH Racing 11-24-2007, 11:48 PM We Shoud'nt be so hard on Dawn most of the time you don't find out till the first of the year. MIDWESTRC 11-26-2007, 12:16 AM Nothing against Dawn, but maybe if ROAR got the race dates out, more people could plan for them. The longer they take the more racers are going to set dates for other races. swtour 11-26-2007, 01:33 AM Maybe the races that are generally run in the 1st quarter of the year....should be selected in the previous year. ie: the '08 Carpet Nat's should have been selected with the '07 races... The other thing that helps....is for tracks to submit THIER tracks for consideration before the LAST MINUTE. burbs 11-26-2007, 03:28 AM what tracks are in the bidding for the race??/ ive always belived races should be held in the middle of the USA.. Why?? Because its the same trip mor most people.. Oval races are always held in the midwest or a few southern states.. these areas have the highest concentration of racers.. They also seem to do well for attendance.. All of the East or West coast races always have a low turnout.. Yeah it sucks always having to travel, but no matter how far, the bill usually comes up the same.. When does Roar anounce that tracks can contact them for a bid.. Ive never seen anyone post any info saying they are looking for a location to hold a race..Is this in Rev up?? If it isnt to late I vote that Someone should Contact Trackside in milwaukee to see if they want to be in the bid race.. Its been 6 years since wisconsin had a carpet nats.. The race pulled in well over 100 bodies, and was a blast.. Its prolly the only track in wisconsin that can hold the amount of racers a nats pulls.. MIDWESTRC 11-26-2007, 10:01 AM Burbs, I will agree on that one with you. We should get Trackside to get in the running for carpet nats. It would be nice not to have to go so far to run a national event for once. swtour 11-26-2007, 12:16 PM I don't remember for sure, but I believe reading the ROAR website sometime back...bids for Nat's for the next year have to be in before the first of September...that in itself would/could be part of the reason it takes until so late in the year to decide if that's the case. By the time you go through bids for ALL the divisions...and work out locations, scheduling, etc...it can be a lot of work and can be time consuming. ...I looked on the web site and don't see anything referring to a date however...only that the tracks that had submitted a bid would be discussed at the FALL "ExComm" meeting for selection. Dawn Sanchez 11-26-2007, 01:46 PM Well you obiously were not there either so you don't have to buy it. You are correct and I apologize for my harsh sense of humor in that post I made. Its ok though... beat me up and hope you get an answer to your questions.... heck, I do this in my "spare" time.... and hope I can provide to you guys the connection to ROAR management that you deserve. With all due respect to each of you and my apologies for what I write sounding a bit off kilter or rude..... FroBoy 11-26-2007, 08:37 PM Guys, its all on the roar website under nationals guidelines. We put our bid in back in late April. According to the guidelines the deadline for submission is June 31st, this year it was extended until August 31st. Then the commitees look at the bids and pass the recomendations on to the Excom. Then they tell us. That's what we're waiting on now. As far as I know there are only two tracks in the running for the carpet oval nats. Hobbyplex and Minnreg. Either one will be great... JH Racing 11-26-2007, 09:32 PM You are correct and I apologize for my harsh sense of humor in that post I made. Its ok though... beat me up and hope you get an answer to your questions.... heck, I do this in my "spare" time.... and hope I can provide to you guys the connection to ROAR management that you deserve. With all due respect to each of you and my apologies for what I write sounding a bit off kilter or rude..... It's all good by the time it's determined my cars will be sold. Dawn Sanchez 11-27-2007, 02:26 PM It's all good by the time it's determined my cars will be sold. Just NOW got word from Oval Committee..... its looking like RC Thunder for Carpet and Carolina RC for Paved...... nothing official yet.. waiting on the rest of Excom approval and I must verify with the host tracks and dates. There's more involved than just announcing.... we gotta figure out everything (10 nationals and dates) so it all works together. Again, your patience is wonderful and appreciated... BTW, both tracks are asking for dates later in the year.. so there is plenty of time to plan your travel and even purchase NEW cars... :) BTW - On Road Carpet event has been announced... HobbyPlex in Omaha, Nebraska with dates of March 12-16, 2008....... brian0525 11-27-2007, 02:38 PM thanks for the update! pmsimkins 11-27-2007, 05:17 PM Thanks! Despite what you see on here most of us are appreciative of the time you take to keep us in the loop! Dawn Sanchez 11-27-2007, 05:32 PM Thanks! Despite what you see on here most of us are appreciative of the time you take to keep us in the loop! :) oh, after five years of the keyboard abuse I've accepted... I'm used to it. Actually, I find myself a bit more harsh in my own tone and less helpful to those who abuse my time... :) Upward and forward... thats the key... MIDWESTRC 11-28-2007, 09:32 PM Dawn, thanks for the updates. Please let us know when it is a for sure thing. Dawn Sanchez 11-28-2007, 10:23 PM We have FINALLY been able to select and notify the host tracks for the 2008 ROAR Nationals. Dates are being worked on right now. I have phoned each track to request and verify from their bid the dates they selected and will be able to confirm those in a day or so. Below are the selected host tracks. ROAR thanks the class committees for their efforts and exceptional advice in their recommendations. All nationals were specifically selected based on recommendations from the hard working class committee's. The evaluation process is very time consuming and diffcult as this year, there were more bids for each event than in past years and so many items had to be considered. We do apologize for the long wait (13 days longer than typically done and previously announced) and hope it was worth the wait for each of you. One track bid. 98Ron 11-29-2007, 03:04 PM Dawn, thanks for the info, have the dates been published yet? Dawn Sanchez 11-29-2007, 04:42 PM Dawn, thanks for the info, have the dates been published yet? not quite.. about 95% ready with that.. have 6 of the 9 venues yet to confirm the dates selected... :) Dawn Sanchez 11-29-2007, 05:25 PM just one more track to confirm now...... sorry for the wait.. but can't publish until all 9 are in agreement of dates.... makes it too messy to post and then make changes... :) MIDWESTRC 11-29-2007, 09:36 PM Thanks Dawn. Craig 11-30-2007, 10:27 AM One track bid. In the entire nation only ONE track bid for the oval nationals? Man that's just sad. MIDWESTRC 11-30-2007, 12:04 PM Well, what are you going to do ? I guess more racers need to get their local tracks to get off the band wagon and put in bids. swtour 11-30-2007, 04:35 PM In the entire nation only ONE track bid for the oval nationals? So did THAT track win the bid? LOL rccarnut 12-01-2007, 01:45 AM SWTour i can answer that one for ya...YES! Carolina RC Complex was honored to host the 07 Nats, and is looking forward to the 08 Nats. Unfortunately oval racing is struggling in the rc industry as a whole, but since we are in the heart of Nascar country we have always had a few die hards that kept the sport going.
