JasonZ 11-11-2007, 10:13 PM After seeing that Matchbox Alfa Romeo, this one looks really cool
Superbird77 11-12-2007, 05:09 PM Windshield wipers look so tiny on the Bang model in comparison to Minichamps, but it doesn't have side mirror. Are Bang models in higher price range or is it similar?
Lummox 11-12-2007, 05:44 PM I know most of those '60s Alfas were 4cyl.
But wasn't the 2600 a V6? Which sort of explains the different looking body style.
I'm pretty certain the 2600 was a very rare sight in the states.
The Coupe is Bertone and the Spider is Pininfarina, right?
I used to own a Sprint Veloce'
Really nice models, thanks for showing them!!!

Thanks - the engine in the 2600 was a straight six not a V6. You're right saying the Sprint was a Bertone design, but, the Spider was by Touring. I understand about 7,000 Sprints were made and about 2,300 Spiders, so indeed, a rare sight anywhere.

I've had the Bang Sprint for some years - from memory, it was quite a bit more expensive than the price of Minichamps at the time. This could have been due to Bang models being built in Italy, rather than China as for most diecasts - much higher labour cost in Europe.
Sadly, Bang are no longer in production - they stopped a couple of years ago.
Lummox 11-12-2007, 06:59 PM GREAT information Jinx. I love hearing about the production figures and the coach builders
of fine and rare cars.
It's a huge part of my automotive interests.

Prices are very similar to Minichamps, and you can order from their website. Buy 2 models and get one free !

I understand, that the models on sale are from stock - none have actually been made for a couple of years - I think the owner of Bang gave up trying to compete with the models made in China - much more expensive labour costs in Italy - but, was not prepared to move production to China, so ceased actually making any new models.

Thanks for the info ! I'm missing the Ferrari 250GTE, I hope it's not too late to get one
