Although we've still got 2 events left in the '07 season, I'm announcing the proposed classes for the South-West Tour Series for the '08 season.

At this time the plan is to move the 4 'points' classes to ALL Brushless/Lipo based classes. ALL CLASSES WILL USE ORION 3200s and NOVAK MOTORS*

STOCK/21.5* will replace the old traditional 27t Stock motor class, using NOVAK'S *NEW 21.5 brushless motor.
LIMITED/17.5* will replace the 4 cell 10.5 (4300) class in '08 as the 'premier' class. (the 10.5/4 cells will still be allowed to compete in this class as well)
NASTRUCK/17.5 is aimed more toward the 'Sportsman' caliber driver.
MODIFIED/10.5* will be for those who are looking for a little more speed. *This class will also allow any Brushed/Brushless motor to be used with 4 cell NiMh's upto 4600 mah.

Wow I like those rules. Just a few classes, with a place for the novice and experienced racer.
Nice to see brushed/4 cell allowed in some classes for those not ready to make the switch.
Good luck with the series Joe!

I like that you had the guts to make an across the board change.

It's good to see a change without some sort of multiyear 15 class transitional period.

A+ on the Line-up!

Place for everyone to race and not too many classes!

beach,

I don't know if I'm going to be able to do AZ in '08 yet or not.

Currently the race director (ME) is unemployed, and unable to work...so my 'extra' travel money for '08 is going to be really tight, so we I may be force to keep it in So. Cal.

I had hoped to go back to Phoenix's RCSports Mania, and the track just outside Las Vegas in Boulder City...but it's not looking promising at this time.
