I just started doing models and I wanted to know how much detail you can put on a 1/35 model of a 101st Airborne 1944 soldier. Please post pics. thank you.

i guess it would depend on your skill both painting and scratch building.

Mostly it depends on a steady hand the right tools.

1. A good magnifier. Get one with a bright lamp.
No matter how young you are, your eyes are only so good. The magnifier will be the greatest aid you can get to painting miniatures of any kind.

2. A selection of brushes. Im talking all the way down to OOO size, little more than a hair in a handle. Youll need pointed, flat and a couple of round brushes. Make them sable and dont be afraid to spend a little money on them - that will make you want to take car of them.

3. The right paint. Smooth consistency is what you want, above all else. Use fresh paint and stir it well - no bits or chunks!
Acrylics have finally gotten good enough where you can blend them well and they work right out of the bottle. There is also the old standby of oil paints, although I dont like them for small figure work in 1/35 scale. Whichever you go with, experiment to get your style down.
