I was wondering if any of you might have some helpful hints for a problem I am having. I'm working on a Tecumseh HS50. The carb is leaking gas out the throat. So far I have put two different needle/seats kits in as well as tried a new float. I can tip the carb up side down with the float bowl off and no gas comes out the needle/seat area. But when the carb on is on the engine and I run it, shortly after shut down it starts leaking. I've used Tecumseh tool # 670377 to set the float height and have even increased the distance to try to remidy the problem. Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Did you make sure the seat was installed with the grove side down?

Check the float bowl vent and make sure it's not plugged, if the float bowl does not vent then the carburetor will flood.

Thanks for the help. I ended up taking the carb all apart and dunking it in carb cleaner. Seems to work just fine now. I did replace the fuel hose too since it had minor cracks (though I never found any evidence of it in the carb). It runs great now.
