I have a quick question for everybody.
If you run a Connector like a Deans of Tamiya will it slow you down. Right now i am running a Deans connector on my 4200mah batteries with a 27turn motor. If i take the deans off and solder the direct will it make me faster. Also if i shorten my wires and run them away from each other will i save battery or will it not make any differance.
Let me know

Think of wires as a water pipe. The larger in diameter of the pipe more flow - less resistance.
Think of connectors as valves - a choke point - more resistance.
Less resistance is good... running a stocker you need every bit of oooomph you can get!

Many tests have ben done and they show that good quality connectors (like Deams) have no more resistance then straight wire. I've seen enough poor solder joints done at the track to believe that they are much worse then a properly soldered connector could ever be.
With a connector you can sit at home and take your time soldering them to get a good joint that never has to be touched again.

Like hankster said, a circuit is only as strong as it's weakest point. You can have the largest wire you can find on there, but if the solder joint is bad. That wire is not going to help.

alright well everyone did a really good job of explaning the connectors. and they are right circuitry is only as good as its weakest point. so be sure to practice soldering and get really good at soldering. also I like to have connectors for there ability to change out really fast. but stay away from tamiya connectors they are full of resistance and only get worse over time. deans are great tho I see nothing wrong with them. and I recently switched to coraly plugs. all I did was i wired up my car so that the negative lead is not anywhere near long enough to streach over to the positive lead of the battery so I am forced to only plug it in one way. even tho the plugs themselves are not polarized. But you have many choices but I see no reason to avoid plugs like the plague
HOPE THIS HELPS
