Some spring rate charts refer to some heavy VCS springs that I cannot find for sale.

Spring Rate Chart 1 (http://home.comcast.net/~cwinters15/rc/spring_rates.html)
Spring Rate Chart 2 (http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/attachment.php?attachmentid=34373)
Spring Rate Chart 3 (http://www.strandrcracing.com/images/Strand%20Springs.pdf)

There is reference to a Wind Tunnel side VCS Black 17.0 lbs. spring.

Do these exist any more? I can't find them at the usual places. I'd like to try something heavier than copper (16 lbs.).

How about Wolfe? Apparently they used to have these heavy side springs:
Black: 17 lbs.
Red 19.0 lbs.
Green 21.0 lbs.

what the heck ya buildin?I like to learn and test things for myself, and discover why they work the way they do. I could just copy other racer setups, but instead I've been learning the geometry and understanding the physics involved with oval cars. On Wednesday's, I race. On Saturday's, I experiment. Sometimes it's easier to go to the extreme to see it's affect.

I've seen my fair share of bad advice given out. Here is just one example: Without even picking up a car, I saw one veteran racer tell a newer racer, "First thing you should do, is to get rid of that copper center spring. It's too hard." But he gave this advice without feeling the suspension, seeing the T-Plate, or knowing the shock oil weight, or piston number used. Not to mention copper springs are different depending on the manufacturer.
Silva's copper center spring are 7.0 lbs.
RC4less/Windtunnel's copper center spring are 11.0 lbs.
Custom Work's copper center spring are 25.0 lbs.

Just a followup:
I discovered that Windtunnel did indeed sell:
WT #3106 17# Black VSC spring (Jan 2006 (http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showpost.php?p=1353174&postcount=33))
Apparently it was reduced to 12 lbs, and renamed in Nov 2006 (http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showpost.php?p=1709606&postcount=1):
WT #3106 11# Purple
WT #3107 12# Black

The heaviest spring that I know of is the crc super stiff silver. It's much heavier than an associated copper.

I don't know what the rate is... This is all I could find:
soft 1339 Blue Spring 10.0 lbs m)6L
| 1348 Gold Spring 12.0 lbs (CK standard) T0:x
| 1340 Red Spring 14.0 lbs i
| 1341 Copper Spring 16.0 lbs u?u+s
| 1342 CRC Stiff Silver .050 L]C8
hard 1343 CRC Super Stiff Silver .055

Rob might still have some in stock. I just got some last month. They are not on his sight, but give him an e-mail and tell him what you want.
