With BL the windings are in the can not on an armature. The rotor is the magnet. Just to be clear your 3.5 will always be a 3.5 not matter what rotor you put in the can and your 10.5 will alwyas be a 10.5. Makes sense I hope. 37 RACING 10-25-2007, 04:15 PM Wierd swtour 10-25-2007, 04:38 PM ....the only things you have to watch out for...if you have the older motors, or any of the SMALL Bearing motors, you can't put the big bearing rotor in them w/o also using the big beariing endbell. jgoodwin 10-26-2007, 10:36 PM Ok, I am old skool can somebody splain-me the difference in a 8.5,10.5,13.5 on so on. I understand the can is the wind per-say. What do the numbers equal to brushed arms? I am assuming Sintered is Better? Why? I see a 13.5 and a 13.5 velocity or something like that. I am going back dirt racing with a CW Intimidator with a BL 13.5 and a 3200 LiPO setup. Just wondering where to start on gearing with about a 2.60" tiresetup. Thanks for any help - I am lost without my 12D and 1700 cells.lol squeeker138 10-27-2007, 12:22 AM a 13.5 used 6c is a little faster than a 27t(stock) motor and 6c. 4300/10.5 same thing is a little faster than a 19t. swtour 10-27-2007, 02:00 AM jgoodwin, On the WHY part of the sintered being better...I believe one of the major things that makes it better vs. the BONDED rotor is "STRENGTH" The Magnetic material that makes up the BONDED rotor isn't very strong (The rotor IS a magnet) The material in a SINTERED ROTOR is very strong, making it a very strong magnet...the making it pull a lot harder than the bonded rotors. The sintered, for what ever reason (LESS WORK) also runs cooler, allowing even more gear to be used (MORE SPEED) without over heating. Think if a SINTERED ROTOR as a NICE Handwound Armature, and the BONDED as a crappy MACHINE WOUND armature...LOL vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
