A pair of 1953 Buick Skylarks made by Brooklin. The light green model is the first release. These are older Brookiln models. This particular model is very heavy for it's size.

I found a couple of pics of a red 1:1 red 1953 Buick Skylark on the internet that I can add to the thread.

The 1/43 scale Brooklin model for comparison.

Nice ones - interesting colors on those.
I think those in 1/1 were really rare. Like the Eldos from the same yr.

Here's an interesting link with Bob Hope's 1953 Buick Skylark Lummox.

That's always been one of my complaints. Brooklin didn't do the chrome trim on their early models. Here's a comparison when bare metal foil is added to a model.

The bare metal foil is a nice improvement.

The windshield, window, and windshield wiper detailing make a big difference.

The small emblems are hard to do.

Nice job on the foil - doesn't even look like the same car!
I've never tried foil - I wonder if it would work on a 1/64th scale car.

That boat is incredable! Is it a Chris-Craft? I saw one at a car show that looked like that.
The big fin is crazy!
It was a '59 i think. Who makes it?

It would have to be a raised surface, and you would have to be very skilled Lummox. A lighted magnifying device would help. I think you know what I mean (mine is about 30 years old, and it is round).

The boat is a 1955 American speedboat made by Brooklin. I don't know if "American" was a manufactuer of speedboats, or if it is a description of Brooklin's speedboat. The boat could be a Chris-Craft. The trailer is also made by Brooklin. The fin is cool......if the boat was painted black it would remind me of the Batboat. :p This boat would never float......it's all metal.
