Does anyone know what scale this is going to be?!? I thought I had seen on a previous thread that a 1/60 version was shown, but on the Motormax site, they are only showing it under 1/24. Can anyone confiirm the scale this one will come in?!?

I'd suspect that it will be initially released in the larger scale and eventually released in 1/60 sometime early next year. There is a thread here on HT showing these in 1/60 scale that were handed out at Autofest this year.

EDIT:Try this link to see what the dippy looks like-Motormax thread (http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=196201)

Hope this clears up some of the confusion. :)

Thanks! I thought there was a thread showing these in 1/60, but I couldn't find it. I have waited for a Diplomat for years, and am glad they will be coming out in my favorite scale.

Dear All:

Sorry I took so long to answer, but it goes like this: the 1/24 Diplomat - described as a 1986 Diplomat Salon on Motormax site - is the civilian version. As it happens with the current Vic, the civilian and police versions carry on with different front grilles, so one can distinguish between them In 1986, the Diplomat sold to the public had a re-designed front grille, while the Police version carried on with the same grill from the beggining of the decade. Hence, the 1/24 scale car is a civilian version, while the 1/60 scaled one are the Patrol Units. Live to Motormax to give different models out of a casting - Ford Pinto and Mercury Bobcat, Maverick and Comet, the two Diplomats and they may do a Granada and Monarch, who knows?

Hopefully they'll make a 1/87 scale version too for us train layout folks.

I think these were a special addition Maurice passed out at Autofest. Ask Mark Hossaflook I think he got the one I won.

I`d like to see the diplomat also since I had a baby blue 85 318 one. They also could `hopefully` make a 85-86 5th ave. from this also.I`d definately buy 1 of those. My dad bought these all of the time so I basically grew up in 5th ave`s.They could even have big bag phones in them[just something I remember from most of them]
