nascar4al 10-18-2007, 05:19 PM 1. Why do I keep buying cars off ebay?
2. Why would Greenlight let this out of the factory? ( especially a GM )
Ok, I get this car in the mail today. The instant I pull it out of the box I see the glob of paint on the front fender. Bummer. Seller never said anything about it. I look again at the picture on ebay of it. I don't see the glob in the picture. I look at recent feedback for seller. He sold another same car. The picture on my auction is the same pic from other auction, which I have done the same, but not to cover up a flaw. He had to have seen the glob. Greenlight saw something ( a chip I guess ) and drops a glob of off color paint on it and ships it. A chip would have looked better. Ok, a 3rd question. Am I being to picky?

Mikietom 10-18-2007, 05:25 PM I don't so. If the seller used another picture it might have been for conveinance;however, since the car in the picture did not have the flaw the seller should offer a refund or something mutual agreement.
I don't believe the seller's intent was to deceive so give the seller a chance to make it right.

I guess the seller want to sell it, & its Not the seller, who is hold responsible,,,,How did it get out of GREENLIGHT hands,,, Where that Quality Control:confused:
fuddmiester 10-18-2007, 06:09 PM Not being able to see in person... is that definetly a "glob" or could it be a floating chip of paint?? I've had them before that you can shake it abit, or even make static on the package and they'll pop off?!
nascar4al 10-18-2007, 07:17 PM I know what you mean about the floating chips. I have seen them also and got them to come off or at least move some. Not in this case. It almost looks like it has a burr on the metal, had no paint on it and someone tried to touch it up. I dont know why they even have a person look for defects and then have them touch it up like this and ship it. Its not like it made it look ok. With the off color it shows up more than a burr would have.
JasonZ 10-18-2007, 07:55 PM uhh. Another paint problem. One recent buy I had also had an problem like yours,
STUTZ 10-18-2007, 09:39 PM 1. I'm guessing you bought it from ebay because you like the car and couldn't find it in a store on a peg. The winning bid was what you were willing to pay for it too.
2. The quality with Greenlight cars is a major concern with me right now. The factory workers need better training, or need to be replaced with better quality control employees.
3. No you are not too picky Al, the seller should have describe the defect in the paint.
I've seen several GM with paint defects lately. Most are not as bad as the GM that you got from ebay.
macnut 10-18-2007, 10:23 PM That' a bummer Al. I was worried about that when Greenlight increased their run totals. I think if we keep showing them the problems with their cars it will help them to fix things in the future.
JasonZ 10-18-2007, 10:26 PM Me 2. When 5k went to 10k i think the quality deteriorated, even on the regular cars.
CTWLSMIKE 10-18-2007, 11:22 PM That's a real bummer on an awesome car. Sorry to hear it. Hope you can upgrade sometime.
nascar4al 10-23-2007, 09:15 AM Well, I finally heard back from seller. He says he should not have to disclose a factory defect on a sealed item. He says sorry I didn't see it in the pic. Pretty hard to see it when it was not the pic of the car I bought. I just picked the wrong seller. I will get me another one. Oh, and seller says the value is still there. Thats funny, I took it to a diecast show sunday and no one wanted it because of the flaw. So not much value. I have had good luck on ebay, just not this time.
Mikietom 10-23-2007, 10:11 AM A defect is a defect and if the seller refuses to work out something than NEGATIVE feedback is in order.

65mustang 10-23-2007, 07:13 PM If you gave a lot for it, you should be upset. That is a risk about shopping eBay, you cannot check it out in person.
I got burned with a 1983 67 Camaro (loose). Decals/tampos were great, but the paint was very suspicious. :( I sucked it up as a price of playing on eBay.
