...with Matt from Greenlight earlier today. Inquired about the upcoming MCG5, which, he has assured me, should be out in the next 4-5 weeks. I asked Matt about my #1 concern--plastic tops, rather than metal, on some of the cars. The reason for this, he stated, is that it's more cost-effective. Thus, rather than spend more money on new molding, I surmise, why not just take the same vehicle, and later make it a custom convertible (or hardtop). Good point, even I must add.
Incidentally, as for the upcoming MCG5 castings, the '68 Mustang (Notchback) will have a plastic roof; the '67 (Fastback) A METAL ROOF---AND, LAST, BUT not LEAST--the '68 Plymouth Road Runner....will also have a METAL roof!!! Boy, am I excited! How many years I've waited for that car to finally surface in 1/64-scale!
Thanks ever so much, Matt, for taking the time to speak with me! And again, keep up the FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC work!
