Maybe some one can help me.I have a red cap motor that keeps laying down on me.When i first get on the track it runs ok,after a few laps it lay down. The motor do not have to be real hot.On sat. at LPR in the A-Main every time we had a yellow and slowed down and go back to green the motor would lay down about one lap then it would pick up speed. It never got over 11000 RPM.I repalced all my fuel lines install a new carbruater and new fuel tank. The motor was rebuilt about a year ago.I was having the same problem before i had it rebuilt.Any ideals?

came across this problem this weekend take the carb off and look into the intake port sounds like the piston is scratched & or cylinder. the motor we had issues with... had no resistance when pulling on the pull starter= no compression

the motor we had the problem with was 2 races old we tried 3 carbs... ect same problem acted like it was starving for fuel bottom line is it had been leaned out and ruined the cylinder and piston

I just had the same problem, your carb is not seated properly. If you have changed phenolic blocks recently or done anything to the carb or block, this is where you will find the problem. Good luck!

Check your seals, sounds like it may be sucking air which will groove the piston and cylinder.

Had that happening to me at the dirt nats. We readjusted the carb and it never laid down after that. I would say recheck your carb adjustments.

Have To Run The Motor Rich. Because It Will Lean Out As You Run And It Gets Hot. Hot Motors Will Vaporize The Fuel Faster And Thats Makes It Lean. So A 1/4 Turn On The Low End Usually Does The Trick. You May Need More. Got To Mess With It Depends On The Heat On The Track, Air Temp, Humidity, Air Flow To The Carb From Outside. Thats Why They Have Screens In The Front Of Nascars, Air Flow To Cool Things Down. Recirculated Hot Air Just Gets Hotter. Better Check Out Motor, Only Takes A Some Laps And You Did In The Cylinder Wall Or Ring Or Both, Then: No More Hp.
