I'm trying to get a car together for Mustang Madness, and it occurred to me that if I keep trying to delude myself that I have the time and resources to model a replica of the yellow Terlingua Mustang, I'm gonna miss it again this year. So I'm trying to go simple... henceforth, I was wondering if any of you guys were familiar with the car in the pic I'm attaching. What color was it? what color were the numbers? were the markings similar on the other side? anyone have any other pics?

And Roger, if you read this: if we model a car like this, can we leave the bumpers off?

thanks in advance for any help...

The race is for the modeling list and yep if what you are modeling did not have the front bumper then you can remove it.

The photo on left was taken at Riverside and was Jerry's 1st Trans-Am race in 1966. I can't find any color photos of that car, just the Firebird.

But it's hard to beat Titus' Terlingua Terror in Phoenician Yellow maybe? Testors makes this color as part of a 2 part system of color and clearcoat. nd

Definitely would make a nice easy build. rr

yeah, I wanted to do that yellow car... there are tons of reference photos on the Net and I even have a poster of it in the slot room/dungeon/basement. there's a company building 1:1 replicas too, if I'm not mistaken, and plenty of pics of that too. but by the time I make up decals... mask the two-tone... fix the inevitable botch job... it'll never be there in time. however, like you said, roadrner, the other one is a nice easy build... i found another pic (which i'll attach) and actually did the car in white since I posted this. i was thinking about posting pics of mine, but I don't want to steal Roger's thunder... roger? you reading this? you mind if i post a couple pics before the actual GreenRun photo sessions? :D

Cool rick.... Good job getting it down too. Some of the very nicest looking cars are the simplest. Brings back thoughts of a simpler time (1:1 racing and for slots). Me likey!!!... Think I'll take my own advice and do a light yellow stang with a black top. Good luck with the race. nd

Here is a look at the 68 Shelby all the entrants will recieve. It set next to the first car I shrrank successfully. The 68 Shelby is LWB shown on a NOS TJET chassis it can come down some more with smaller diameter tires.

Well we hook ole' stinky Pete up to those two old Fords we had in the Gerage..( Was really confused was gonna enter Pete even though he is a Throughbreed not a Mustang, he's broke...) But Mr. Roger dun got us straight so we sent rusty Carcus out to haul these two up, used ta run shine till the sherrif got wind so we went for a more sedate car Honda BOx ugly as a dead mans backside but no one pays them no nevermind). So we're gonna send them off to verginia Beach with some sunscreen and a towel and see if we all can't haul back one of them new fangled fords they been making..maybe doa few drop offs if ya gits whats I all is sayin' on the way.. so y'all stay off the road as we're not sure if anyone ever put any binders on these things.
