 My local track has a brushless class mostly everyone is running the older 4300 motor I wnt down today to order one and mines the XBR with a 10.5 motor. Now my question is which motor is faster the 10.5 or 4300? Now we are running these with Trinity spec batteries and the older SS & SS+ speed controlers.

if it's a XBR 10.5 vs a original 4300 w/o the sintered rotor, they should run the same...they are basically the same motor.
The 10.5 and the 4300's ARE THE SAME MOTOR just a change in name from KV rating to WIND rating.
If you have a SINTERED ARM/ROTOR in one....IT will be the faster one.

watch your gearing too, I think the sintered arm pulls more rpm if my thinking is right which in turn you'd have to gear a bit lower. A 10.5 at Fultons, that has to be wicked crazy on that small track.

Sintered rotor holds more gear not less.. Mainly because it runs cooler..and can stand to run hotter than bonded rotor..

Kenwood is correct, I think we went UP 2 or 3 teeth with the sintered...
A) Because the Sintered makes MORE Power - the magnet has to be 2-300% stronger
B) Because the motor runs cooler - it can handle it.
I had one of our guys who had just recently got into the Brushless game...put a sintered rotor in his 4300(10.5) for our Velo race last weekend. He had run it at our last velo race and it went pretty good, but if he geared anywhere close to what the rest of us did, he would hit 200 degrees (we were pulling 165-170. Plus he was .3 - .4 slower per lap.
He stuck the NEW rotor (Standard size Sintered) in for last weekends race - and he was able to run the same gear, have the good temps and LAP TIMES (the most important part) and took 2nd in the race. (grumble - beating my son by one spot)

Something also to remember, the target motor temps seems to be lower as the number of winds increases.
