Grand Motorsports Tops IMDRA Finals
At the International Model Drag Racing Associations’ IMDRA Finals meet, San Antonio, Texas’ Bob “The Bullet” Anteloppe and his Grand Motorsports dragster “Color me Gone” took a hard-fought win in the Extreme Dragster class, where it’s anything goes, all-out nitro vs. electric competition. Bob took on the quickest field of RC dragsters ever assembled, with record Elapsed Times being recorded from the start of qualifying.
Bob met Alfred Rodriguez in the final, and took the win by virtue of a quicker reaction time, running the 132-foot track in 1.41 seconds to Albert’s quicker, but losing 1.39 seconds. However, in with his earlier earlier runs, Alfred’s Grand Motorsports dragster set the current IMDRA top speed record at 100.2 mph
Dallas resident Josh Wood also turned in an outstanding performance with his beautiful Grand Motorsports dragster, backing up the new E.T. record mark at 1.37, and won concours as well.
Congratulation to all the competitors who used Grand Motorsports dragsters to turn in these outstanding world-class performances! Photos courtesy of Kip Scharf, SAMDRL.
