Shouldn't we run tires covered with carpet if the track is foam? Seriously, Sharkey's car was real good with foam on foam. Gonne be a good winter. :)

Yeah Big D,I didn't figure it would last too long.;)
Dirtydrc 10-18-2007, 03:58 PM John & Jess now have Legend kits & parts in stock. Spec battery packs are coming in soon. Call for details 860-354-4703

I'm glue'n up ozite as we speak. Oh should we Paragon the track every round or just the main?
Dirtydrc 10-18-2007, 08:53 PM They are gonne be real hard on your tire truer.
Dirtydrc 10-21-2007, 05:59 AM Looks like Oval racing has been moved from Friday to Saturday, and road course has been moved from Saturday to Sunday. Call GMX for additional information 860-354-4703.
The popular oval classes looks like Legends and Sliders.
Possible new class for the oval: EDM Stock 4-cell. Run the same car you did on the dirt oval, just use a 4-cell battery. I tried it with mine before racing dirt oval Saturday and it ran very well. Rules will probably be 1) Gearbox tranny only (3-gear type) no direct drive. 2) Rear wheel / 2 WD. 3) EDM body, WDRA legal. 4) Functioning 4 wheel independant suspension using 4 functioning coil over shocks only. 5) Option to add full width full bumper extending up to 1/4" wider than front track width.
Anyone can contact GMX or me with questions on the EDM class.
scott law 10-21-2007, 09:01 AM Any thoughts of some short track S/K's
omnis85 10-21-2007, 10:18 AM Any thoughts of some short track S/K's
working on an actual 12th SK chassis now that would be awesome for that type of track, 12th tires, axle, tplate and a smaller body than the 12th one we are running now. Was going to ask what you guys would think of that to run on the track?
DrtRcrM87 10-21-2007, 01:20 PM Ken,Sharkey here, curious,I understand you working on a 12th SK.Best of luck with it.In this case why couldn't one use an existing 12th chassis(pancar),and use the available 12th SK bodies? Will this new car use the Spec damper etc.?Not stirring the stew, just interested in thoughts and opinions.I'd like to see a
12th version,sounds interesting.Thanks

Omni, I ran my SK on the foam tile track last night (4-cell, cobalt stock motor) it was not good. too much power. I could see lots from a-arms and foam tires getting torn off. The cars would be more manageable for most guys is they ran a Mabuchi 540 Legends type motor. But, that motor does not fit in a 1/12 pod. The foam tires on the foam track are fine, just don't overpower them. Once the rear tires start to slide - they are gone. If you do a 1/12 SK, for this track, I would make the rear pod able to accept a Mabuchi 540, and offer a full width front bumper like a pan car, and a right rear neft wing that sticks out a little past the tire. That would help.

Well I have been thinking about doing an actual 1/12 Sk for a long time now, without getting into great detail on the chassis itself, the car wouldnt be designed specificly for one track, I just thought this track would be kind of neat to try it out on because its small. Im not saying I am going into production with it, Nerf wing is more than likely going to be an add on for the chassis, 1 side damper tube, spec center shoc. I am going by skor rules with the design of the 12th SK incase it gets added to be a class, Some will say now we are running a 1/12 sk yes and no the body is labeled a 1/12 scale but the chassis, pod, tplate, wheel base, track width and the tires are 1/10. If someone wanted to race an actual production 1/12 chassis(like AE,CRC etc) and put a SK body on it now imo because at the time of production its labeled and sold as a 1/12 onroad or oval car, but for club racing I wouldnt care. Right now we seem to all(MFG'S an racers) have an understanding of the rules, like center shock, damper tube etc although I think they need to be worked on.

Come on... get yours at GMX!
darrel 10-31-2007, 05:58 PM I like what you did with the windows, they look sharp that way. too bad its not legal as per new rule. #100-2b/c all bodys must be taped along the lines provided by the manufacturer.
Madball 10-31-2007, 06:20 PM How dare you get a paint aero advantage.

23. NO drilling or alterations of the chassis is allowed. You may file the screw or the motor slots for ease of movement.
Dirtydrc 11-01-2007, 07:47 PM The tire truing / cutting rule is gonna require some honesty here on the driver's part. We've all been around, everyone knows what the intent of the rule is, so don't screw around.
John also has a "track rule" for all classes, not just Legends: No traction compound. Ever. Don't do it at the track. Don't do it at home during the week. GMX is a smaller indoor facility, he doesn't want to live with the smell. Again, it's gonna take some honesty here. I know there's some stuff that does not smell. Any questions on this rule should be directed to John.

darrel 11-05-2007, 08:49 PM eric wins the battle on the first night by a wisker. we were on the same lap I belive it was 93 and I was leading down the front stright by 1/2 a lap. went in too soon and found myself facing turn 1 apex. eric goes around for the lead. I start to gain again cutting it down to 1/2 a stright. last lap eric crashes close to the line I piled in and was in the process of climbing over him for the win but the loop must have picked his car up before I finished climbing over. giving eric the battle but not the war. It was fun as legends always are. the shark got a little pissy but calmed down he got run into a whole lot, but was fast. cant wait for the rest of you guys to show......
best lap time so far 3.82 darrel
best qualfying laps 70 darrel
a-main win eric 100 laps/darrel 100 laps/sharkey 95 I belive. (brain hurts cant remember the other 3)
