hey guys.....thanks for checking this out.......
I've never deadshorted batteries..and i have some.crummy packs from this past summer..that i would like to try to revive..by deadshorting.......
i'm wondering how exactly i would go about this....benefits of doing this and negatives of doing this....i would also like to know how i should care for my batteries after they have been deadshorted......
I discharge my current batteries at 30 amps and charge at 6 amps.....i also equalize them after being discharged before recharging them.....
These packs are crap......so i can't really ruin them.......
looking to buy some new IB4200WC's and try to revive these old ones.......
any tips would be greatly appreciated.....
thanks,
alec
btw i race 4 cell 4300 brushless......

all you need is a tray that discharges each cell to zero volts per cell. Use a volt meter to make sure each cell is at zero then solder a wire across the Positive to negative of the pack. when you remove the wire to charge the packs may false peak due to there voltage curve while charging, it starts a little higher then a non deadshorted pack and drops slightly then levels off and raises to peak. The drop in voltage is read as a peak. You will have to start the pack over again unless you have a charger with a long lockout feature. You may want to use the search feature on this site also, since this has been talked about many times before.
