Just saw them on www.rctvlive.com and was impressed. How do I get started? omnis85 02-25-2008, 06:28 PM Ok tell me more. Just saw them on www.rctvlive.com and was impressed. How do I get started? lol easy talk to mike gordon at turn 4 r/c he has some sk spec kits and they run everyweek. We KSKT carry the solid spec kits which can be run in the pro class aswell. If we can help contact us through our website, www.kskts.com Eastcider 02-25-2008, 06:30 PM ok so what chassis are allowed at your sk events ? please list the companys that are allowed? jonnycash 02-25-2008, 06:35 PM For the spec class at turn 4 I would suggest the KSK Skateboard. If you decide to run in another class, you won't have to buy a different car. It is a solid plate chassis, so it makes learning the car setup painless, but it has the capabilities of running with the t-plate cars. I used one to win the ROAR region 1 champs at Maximus. RCRacer00 02-25-2008, 08:30 PM ok so what chassis are allowed at your sk events ? please list the companys that are allowed? All SK cars pretty much are allowed at our track. They have too meet the track width and wheel base legths stated by SKOR. MUST run the center SPEC dampner Tube(NO SPRINGS). The most popular companies we see each week are KSKT, KSK, BEEFY, RSE. The rules are posted on our website. Hope this helps. If you'd like more Info dont hesitate to call the store number at any time. I allways get the call even if the store is closed. 1-860-684-4500. Mike Ginsu 02-25-2008, 08:33 PM Ken you and your car looked good on rctvlive.com Congrats! RCRacer00 02-25-2008, 08:36 PM Ok tell me more. Just saw them on www.rctvlive.com (http://www.rctvlive.com) and was impressed. How do I get started? These cars are without a doubt the most fun you could have racing. We have three classes at our track for the SK cars. The Spec class= Stock handout motors, four cell spec pack, spec chassis. Lots of fun real close racing. than we have the basic Brushed Stock class with up to 4600Mah battery any chassis. than we have 13.5 Brushless class, Novak power plants, up to 4600 Batteries, and hang on lots of speed. this class runs 4.0 sec lap times on our banked carpet track. check out our website for more detailed rules and race events/times http://turn4rc.samsbiz.com omnis85 02-25-2008, 09:41 PM Ken you and your car looked good on rctvlive.com Congrats! thanks, lol I just want to see this class grow, mike I plugged turn 4 for ya but screwed up and said k/n sorry about that. twelve 02-26-2008, 01:20 AM Should have renamed it "K/M";) Turn4RC 02-26-2008, 09:54 AM Ha ha! We thought about it! twelve 02-26-2008, 11:29 PM Kim or Mike, (or anyone else)I'm trying to get the SK class going in Rochester,N.Y. Someone said the cars look like defunct pan cars, and therefore should be legal. Before I respond,I want to make sure is the SK chassis is narrower? Also the guys don't know the difference between a Pro and a Spec. Do you have any photos of both types so I sound like I know what I'm talking about? Turn4RC 02-26-2008, 11:35 PM Check out www.kskts.com . Ken has Pictures there of his spec car and his Tplate car. and you could check www.beefyproducts.com as well to see there spec tplate car and avenger t plate car. I'm not 100% sure of the width of most pan cars, BUT the SK cars max width is teched at 8.25" front and rear. measured at the outside of the wheels. The differance between spec and pro, varies with track rules. With KSKT there solid chassis car can be used either way, spec or pro. Been very sucessfull in both classes. Hope this helps. Mike twelve 02-26-2008, 11:44 PM Thanks,Mike. omnis85 02-26-2008, 11:53 PM Kim or Mike, (or anyone else)I'm trying to get the SK class going in Rochester,N.Y. Someone said the cars look like defunct pan cars, and therefore should be legal. Before I respond,I want to make sure is the SK chassis is narrower? Also the guys don't know the difference between a Pro and a Spec. Do you have any photos of both types so I sound like I know what I'm talking about? Basically its up to the track on how they want to make there spec class. A true spec class would be to run one single available chassis with, handout motors, spec tires, SK body and certain rules that the track makes up or go by skor rules found here www.kskts.com The biggest difference your going to find with the pro class and spec class is Pro cars are ran in brushed stock, brushless and the latest market batteries as where spec class as certain rules you follow. Pro cars do not have so many rules or guidelines. The spec sk class started ahh late 80's I think and I am sure Jon A can elaborate more on this, had certain pod plates, 1 chassis made by one person, batteries were centered in the chassis plate, weight wheel base, track width etc. The tplate cars are only allowed in the pro class except for the beefy spec car which is allowed in both classes due to the batteries centered in the chassis instead of offset, this was defined as a dis advantage in tunning when running oval. Our spec version the Skateboard is allowed in both spec and pro class because it is a solid G10(no rear suspension) chassis plate, however this is the same chassis the original chassis was based off minus the batteries being offset now and upgraded rear pod plates. We have drilled the rear end of the chassis to except the popular cheaper pod plates that are found on the market today such as, CRC,IRS,Darkside and AE. This chassis as mentioned can be ran in the pro class and continues to show how competitive it is against the higher end t plate cars. This chassis won the first Roar Region event the SK car has ever been in against the t plate cars. If there is anything we can do to further help your decision please email us and we would be glad to help. Ken K twelve 02-27-2008, 01:15 AM Thank you,Ken. That was exactly the info I was looking for, even though I might of asked for it the wrong way. Turn4RC 02-27-2008, 09:59 AM Twelve, You have a PM. Turn4RC 02-27-2008, 10:01 AM Hey Ken, that's way more than I could type on my BlackBerry! LOL! -Kim omnis85 02-27-2008, 10:22 AM Hey Ken, that's way more than I could type on my BlackBerry! LOL! -Kim you and your blackberry, lol There is more but I think he gets the point. I hate novels even worse when I need to write one on an occasion. lol jonnycash 02-27-2008, 02:48 PM The spec sk class started ahh late 80's I think and I am sure Jon A can elaborate more on this, had certain pod plates, 1 chassis made by one person, batteries were centered in the chassis plate, weight wheel base, track width etc. Ken K Yup the S/K class originated with a rectangular peice of G-10, centered batts and no rear suspension. The rules were very strict. It was designed to attract the new racers, and the vetereans who could not afford to keep up with the _________ of the week (fill in the blank with anything). Like Ken said, only 1 chassis design. Some of the other rules were: -Only AM radio equipment -no regenerating speed controls -blue,orange,or green compound tires -Motors stayed at the track, and were drawn at random each race day. -batts were a spec stick pack -There were no upgrades allowed as far as the front end... No inline axles, long king pins, or aftermarket castor blocks. -Rear ends had to be run with bolink hubs and axles. -Spur could only be 100 tooth. The pro class has evolved into a s/k bodied pan car class. We are seeing lap times right there with pancars. And thats even with the Skateboard which has no rear suspension. The spec class at Turn 4 is great because although its not as strict as the original rules... It evens the playing feild. Mike and Kim have done a great job with this class, and I believe it will attract new racers into the sport. Tranny Car Man. 02-28-2008, 02:02 PM Jon,First class post!!!,it tells it like it is.Spec racing is fun and somewhat inexpensive compared to the full blown BL Pan Car classes etc.And it also lets the less talented racer(speaking for myself) run competitively. And a hearty thank you to Mike & Kim for doing a super job promoting Spec SK at Turn 4. Sandy Holehouse twelve 02-29-2008, 10:43 PM Thanks, again guys(and Kim). Some of the guys here were asking questions I didn't have the answers for. The trick now is to get them to go for it! Right now,we're trying to get batteries. Turn4RC 03-07-2008, 11:34 AM We're having a tough time getting Trinity spec packs right now too. Rich Hammond :dude: RCRacer00 03-07-2008, 07:02 PM Fill me in on those details please.whatsamatta with windtunnle's spec packs???????. Lets not jump the gun. Ther are no details of changing battery rule. Just a thought. We have ALL our spec racers that have invested a bit of cash into the spec packs we run now. IF there is a change I would like to see an agreement from our regular spec drivers BEFORE anything would be done. We're just thinking about what to do to better our race program for next season.
