Both of these are from a new Dutch company - Neo Scale Models. Like virtually everything else these days, the models are Chinese made. I understand that, they are made for Neo, by the well established Spark company.

The Spark connection is evidenced by the fact that the castings are in resin and are very finely done with excellent detailing. The 1:1 Volvo was actually made in The Netherlands and was originally to be a Daf, however, Daf needed some help to bring the car to market & Volvo stepped in & subsequently took a controlling stake in the Daf car making division, renaming it Volvo Cars bv. The Daf truck operation continued as before & is still a big player in Europe.

The Volvo 340 debuted in 1976 and only ceased production in 1991 - the UK was one of the biggest markets for the car & the larger engined 360 version. The original car was a 3/5 door hatchback - a 4 door saloon (sedan) followed later.

As for the Scirocco, the Mk II debuted in 1981 - like the Mk I it was based on Mk I Golf components, however the original Giugiaro design was replaced by one designed in house. Production ceased in 1991 - it overlapped with the 1988 on VW Corrado which was similar in that it was also based on Golf components, in this case the MK II, although the Corrado was never seen as a direct replacement for the Scirocco.

The Neo model represents a GTX version from 1986 - it looks great in the blue colour & is very well detailed inside & out. Neo have released other colours based on GT & 16v versions - each are finished to represent the differences on the 1:1s.

They look well done, especially the VW, how extensive is the product line?

Not very....as yet.

I think the 340 was the second release (a Saab 95 was first). Future plans are exiting, at least for me :)

To come are Saab 99s, including the Turbo (my name's on one), Volvo 740/760, 240, 262, Audi 200 (Type44/C3) and, the best news, a Series III Jaguar XJ6, amongst several.

I can see my credit card having a hard time

It's good to see Saab's and Volvo's produced, it seems they are 2 car lines that are not represented well. Now if I could find a 1968 Saab 96 like my father had...

The Saab 96 has been done by Corgi, Trofeu & Ixo in recent years. The Corgi & Trofeu are of the realier model with round headlights - the Ixo is the facelifted model with oblong lights with the V4 engine.
