View Full Version : What would you like to see?
I have bought 2 GLs so far and love them. i just want to list a few cars I think would be cool to see.
1. 03-04 Mercury Marauder in black and in silver please :D
2. 300C SRT-8
3. Magnum SRT-8
4. 96 Impala SS (or any B-bodies including Caprice and Roadmaster and the big D Fleetwood 93-96 models, though I know not much of a chance LOL).
5. Mustang Notchback coupe!!!!!! and the 93 Cobra
6. 80s Monte Carlo SS, Olds 442, and Hurst Olds
If they ever did Sport trucks
1. Dakota R/T in Deem Amethyst and sonic Blue
2 Ford Lightnin gen 1 (93-95)
3. Ford lightning Gen 2
4 Ram SRT-10
5. GMC Syclone.
GL is definalty my new favorite manufacturer. Love the Detail, the weight, and the attention to SCALE! What do you guys want to see?
Lummox 10-10-2007, 08:37 PM My tastes run in the anything older than the early '70s catagory.
I don't care if it's U.S., Euro, as long as it's OLD!
The fact they made the '63 Chry. is promising to see. They're not affrad to put out something different.
Any car with a Cross-Ram dual 4 barrell manafold comands respect.
Open the hood of that model sometime. The detail is realy nice.
Good idea with the trucks. Some old p.u.s from GL would be a tasty treat!
What were the 2 GLs you bought, Stew?
rlyoung1 10-10-2007, 08:45 PM I would like to see GL try their hand at some hot rods and maybe some sleds.
Old P/Us (30's to 50's) would be good too.
I have the 65 Coronet and the 78 Pace Car Vette. My brother bought 3 GL mopars, all pace cars I believe. I looked around locally for them for a while and FINALLY found them at the local K-Mart. I can't wait to get more and want the Black Charger SRT8 and the Superbee, and whatever else I can afford LOL
bluehemi818 10-10-2007, 11:04 PM 76 Firebird trans ams (cause there are a big fat 0 castings out there) I would settle for any Trans ams. Novas are very cool too, along with 69-70 super bees. I like the 82-92 camaros as well, just not the Dub city versions. Any police versions are fantastic and trucks (cool trucks) towing even cooler cars would be huge. Maisto was headed in the right direction with their transporters, but the flatbed sucks, the wheels are terrible and the escalades are smaller than the cars they tow......not to mention the trailer isnt very good either. When somebody comes out with a 2003-08 Hemi Ram scaled correctly, towing a Demon or Charger......the world will fall off of its axis and we will all plunge into a firey death. Sorry, just don't know why its so hard for these companies to figure out what will sell and what won't.
i say the 76 trans am & a 79 mustang also the 79 mustang pace car
I'd like to see the stock 2007 Mustang GT/CS Convertible done in Vista Blue. I think that is a simple enough request.
40Intrepid 10-12-2007, 06:56 AM A 70 Plymouth Sport Fury GT/S-23.
A 61 Plymouth Fury.
A 68 Road Runner.
A 70 Charger.
Neon SRT-4
Ram SRT-10
92-97 Dodge Dakota.
Horseplay 10-12-2007, 12:11 PM Your picks are some i would like, Plus the 2003 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra, 2003 Mustang Mach 1
3rdCoastDiecast 10-12-2007, 12:24 PM A set of trucks from the big three would be sweet, classic and modern!
Love the ideas guys. 92-96 Dakota were nice little muscle trucks, light and you could get the magnum 318/5 speed :) Also love the idea of the 03-04 Cobras and Mach 1s. Older trucks would be great too, love the 69 Chevy stepsides, 50s Chevy Cameos and the 50s Dodge sweptsides and the Ford F100s.
sheldon 10-12-2007, 04:05 PM I would like to see the following before any new mediocre castings are released:
1) better consistency in quality
2) more detail, like separate pieces for the head and tail lights, bumpers, and even some undercarriage components.
3) more features, like more opening panels. Ertl, GMP, and Shelby Collectibles did it no reason why GL can't.
4) In order to be a collectible, my criteria includes better interpretation to scale in the measure possible with the scale size and materials used.. this means the wheels, whose rims are nicely detailed, are too wide and slightly too large in diameter.
JL has tons of very interesting subjects for their castings - but mediocre to very poor in every area listed above. HW has tons of castings with the children's line, but they are just that, kiddie cars. Their collectibles line are very nice, but too many repaints - and quite frankly, too much of a big company to be influenced by this board.
When I see these issues addressed by gL, I will be the first to endorse them unequivocally!! But for now, Shelby Collectibles is the best in terms of the criteria above (with the only problem being too few castings).
First off, i don't want this to be another complaining thread so i will request anyone wanting to complain to start their own thread please or post in one of the many others that have already been ramsacked. Thank you. Anyways, bought new 1/64s tonight, 1 GL (07 Shelby GT CS), 1 hotwheels (66 Nova), 1 Malibu customers (427 Shelby SC), and Shelby collectibles (GT500 Eleanor :D). I like them all (of course or I wouldn't have bought them LOL). I like the Shelby, but I am not blown away like I thought I would be, Yeah, they have good detail, but there was a nice scratch on the roof stripe, the surface detailing seems vague somehow, and the problem with any 1/64 I have ever had with opening doors, they just don't line up 100% with the rest of the body, BUT I am still happy with the little things like the clear headlights/foglights and THE MIRRORS. It is great for the 2.99 plus tax I spent LOL. Anyways, love the GL GT CS too, great as usual and not problems at all as far as quality goes. Anwho, with that said, Here is another one i'd like to see, the 66 Nova II would be great. Oh, and an early 70s Plymouth Duster and Dodge Demon.
glhshelby 10-12-2007, 10:06 PM Maisto was headed in the right direction with their transporters, but the flatbed sucks, the wheels are terrible and the escalades are smaller than the cars they tow......not to mention the trailer isnt very good either. I`d love to see that ram released
Nosmo King 10-12-2007, 10:49 PM A set of trucks from the big three would be sweet, classic and modern!
Trucks would be cool, and also how about some panel vans from the 60s & 70s? Especially those "earlies" from the 64-69, I'd be all over them....
FreqE1 10-13-2007, 12:16 AM I would love to see a 68 Dart, a 66 Nova, and/or a notch back Mustang. Please!
gso27 10-13-2007, 01:44 PM 92-94 Eagle Talon
85-89 Pontaic Trans-Am
90-92 Pontaic Trans-Am

Hey Greenlight.... any chance you could start a "Your Car is the Star" or a "Collectors Rides" series? I'd be happy to send more photos for the card ;)
Bob Justbob 10-14-2007, 02:23 PM Since they are doing 60s Mopar I think a 65 -66 Plymouth Fury would be great. A 65 Fury was the Indy 500 pace car so this would fit as the Coronet does. It could also be done as the Sattelite with a front grille change. The same models of Dodge Polara would also be great.
How about a 66 Mercury Cyclone? It was also used as a pace car if I recall.
I see the 65 Chevelle is coming. It would be nice to have a well done 66 Chevelle. I think I also saw that a 69 Chevelle is coming so a 68 would be reasonable.

stretchdog 10-14-2007, 11:56 PM My most desired casting would be a 91-96 Corvette C4. Both a regular and ZR1 version. Coupe and convertibles would be cool. I agree with a lot of you guys especially the Chrysler 300 SRT-8. :)
pontiaccrest 10-15-2007, 05:52 AM 65,66,68 & 69 Grand Prix

Thanks Scott
Horseplay 10-16-2007, 01:38 AM Grand Cherokee SRT8, Chevy Trailblazer SS, And the 300C SRT8 Sounds very awesome. I think truck Series & SUV Series need to be made. The Drag Racing Series also sounds amazing, With some awesome Big tires haha... Hopefully somebody from the company will see this and take account all these great ideas
