It looks like I may have to replace the deck on my 42" Craftsman. I've replaced the blades and the bearings seem okay, but I can't make a level cut. Tire pressure is correct, also. An outfit called Sello out of Swainsboro, GA sells parts on eBay. The prices are low, but does anybody know if they are reliable to deal with?

What parts do you think you need?? These decks have two adjustments, side to side and front to back.
The side hanger brackets are held on by a nut, either one of which can be used to adjust level side to side.
The rods at the front of the unit can be adjusted to level front to back, the blade tip pointing to the front should be 1/4 inch lower than the blade tip pointing toward the back.
Also, these decks are notorious for getting bent, If you've hit a sizable immovable object the deck will distort where the spindle attaches and I've had blades that were bent. both will cause uneven cuts.

Thanks, Glen. What you say makes sense to me. I think my deck might have be bent from hitting things. It is about six years old. I can't seem to adjust it to where there is not a difference between the level of cut of the two blades. Is there a good way to straighten the bend?
