I reached this forum through MotorMax Toy Factory's website, and I want to let them know that their 'Fresh Cherries' line is exactly what I've been looking for!! :woohoo:

I've been a wargamer and miniatures collector for 22 years, and in all this time there's never been any attention given to "civilian" vehicles in that particular hobby. MotorMax's 'Fresh Cherries' line of cars can and has the potential to fill that gap! Instead of vehicles that are "tricked up" or out of scale, the 'Fresh Cherries' range offers straightforward factory automobiles in 1/60 scale, close enough to the 1/56 scale of 25/28mm wargaming figures. 'Fresh Cherries' also showcases vehicles that don't often get attention, which is another plus in their favor.

I bought their 1978 AMC Pacer from my local Wal-Mart, a car that literally epitomizes the '70s, and I'm impressed by it's size and the attention to detail given to it. I can say that their other cars are impressive as well, and now that I know what scale they are I will certainly be purchasing them very soon.

As to what 5 cars I'd like to see MotorMax produce (assumedly in 1/60 scale), here is my list, in no particular order:

1. 1970 Ford Torino GT (my brother owned this car); white with red interior and the yellow-orange-red "laser stripe" on it's flanks
2. Any car from the 1940s
3. Any car from the 1950s
4. 1964 Chevrolet 1-ton panel truck
5. surprise me! :hat:

Thanks, all!

Welcome to the HobbyTalk/MotorMax board. The great folks at MM read this board so your ideas do get heard. Keep posting and keep reading. We had MM at this years Autofest and they were a fantastic sponser.

Check out this years picts and check out the picts of the "Surprise Car" MM did for Autofest. Yes, MM does some great castings from the 70's. It's Maurice Chan's passion. He wanted to do a 70's VW Rabbit but VW said no since they are using the Rabbit name again and want it done as the new Rabbit.

I think the station wagon revival is great and can't wait for the 1/64th scale dioramas MM plans on doing next.

Thanks, fellas!

JasonZ, yep, I'm in Texas. Born and bred here, too! Glad to meet another Texan.

VWowner, it's very encouraging to know that the MotorMax folks take an active role in listening to the consumer's suggestions. As I mentioned earlier, MotorMax has the potential to draw many wargamers to their 1/60 scale vehicles. I can tell you that I've spread the word at a wargaming forum at which I'm a member, and that their vehicles can definitely enhance many "modern" wargaming scenarios.

I look forward to seeing more "goodies" from the good folks at MotorMax, and a big THANK YOU from me and other consumers for their cool cars!

Hey Saginaw glad you found HT, it's a great place. And MotorMax is a great company for producing "orphan" cars. (meant that in a good way!)
I've got a question.
This wargamer stuff your talking about, (sounds kind-of interesting) is it like large dioramas of battles that you and your friends play or what? You all get together someplace and set it all up and go from there? Roll dice, use playing cards or what ever to decide moves, strategy or the out come of a defencive or offencive move? You got me wondering about how it works and where the dicast cars and stuff comes into it. If you got pic's then please show us!

Thanks again, fellas!

Wild Bill, yes, you've pretty much hit your description on the head about what wargaming is. Most wargaming ranges available today cover past subjects (Ancients, Napoleonics, etc.), but there are more modern ranges offered, and some scenarios could definitely use some "flavor" in the form of those little touches that can enhance the look and feel of a game; MotorMax's 'Fresh Cherries' automobiles is perfect for that enhancement. And MotorMax presents realistic vehicles, that is, ones that you would normally see on the street, which I definitely appreciate!

What I had in mind using MotorMax's cars was a Soviet invasion of America, circa 1983, scenario. There's a manufacturer that makes 28mm Soviet soldiers in NBC gear, and I'm currently looking for some appropriate American civilians to counter them. I can direct anyone interested to THE premiere website concerning everything about wargaming. I can post the link here, or shoot me a private message and I can provide it to you that way. Either way, it's my supreme pleasure to share!
