Went to fall Carlisle today and picked up some slot stuff. Nowhere near the haul I got in the spring, when I took Thursday off work and got there before the stuff was picked over, but still not bad for a Saturday. To be honest, I think I actually saw MORE slot stuff there today than in the spring, but this time everybody had their stuff in display cases with big $ on it, like they all suddenly discovered Fleabay.

I was happy to find the latest AW releases there, but disappointed that the bodies I really wanted were gone already. I was struck by GHINS (Gotta Have It Now Syndrome) and bought the Ford GT, the Sand Van and the Studebaker anyway. Had my choices been there, I'd have gotten the '74 Torino and the Camaro from Flamethrowers, and the El Camino from Thunderjet Ultra (and the '68 Torino and the AMX and the Dodge from Thunderjets... but I digress. A couple of vendors told me that stuff all went on Thursday and Friday. Sigh.) On the pullbacks, I got the Corvette and Charger @ 2 for $4, and the Challenger and Fairlane @ 2 for $5. Not bad...
I thought this was interesting:

Given the existence of the new Auto World, I spent a few bucks buying a little piece of the old one. This was weird... it has a MT chassis, but someone had lost the pickup springs and tried to use the brush springs in their place... without replacing the brush springs. Took a little figuring and some spares to get it running. And in an odd coincidence, the other MT chassis I picked up (from a different vendor many aisles away) also had the springs screwed around... only this one, someone tried to use pickup springs as brush springs, and one brush spring as a pickup spring. Now THAT one is a screamer... stuck it under a pullback Buick Turbo and it's a smooth, fun runner.
Anyone ever seen this LL before? Know what make of truck it's supposed to be?

I just thought it was cool because I had never seen one... kinda reminds me of the old AFX Datsun...
