View Full Version : A Must See For Space Fans bert model maker 10-06-2007, 07:02 PM This is something i don't want to miss. http://www.intheshadowofthemoon.com/ (http://www.intheshadowofthemoon.com/) jheilman 10-06-2007, 07:38 PM Yep, looks to be amazing. I'm seeing it tomorrow night! AFILMDUDE 10-06-2007, 08:44 PM Hope they add more showings in California - just checked and the last was yesterday. :( Wonder when it's coming to DVD? I would really like to see this with the family. jheilman 10-06-2007, 10:58 PM I'm sure a DVD will follow. I just wanted to see it on the big screen. Zombie_61 10-07-2007, 12:20 AM I saw it Monday. Well worth seeing if you have any interest in the Apollo missions, even if you have to wait for the DVD. For me, the most interesting parts were the astronaut interviews in which they discuss their respective missions, events that occurred during them, and their feelings about their accomplishments and their involvement in the space program in general. The quality of the older footage ranges from fair to very good; there's a disclaimer during the credits that states none of that footage was altered, restored, or enhanced in any way, and it shows much of the time--yellowed, grainy, etc..--but the editors have done a good job of balancing between the interview footage and the mission footage so that they enhance each other in a very complimentary way. The end result is a well-deserved sense of pride in what those involved in the Apollo missions were able to accomplish. jheilman 10-07-2007, 01:45 AM That sounds encouraging. I look forward to it. veedubb67 10-07-2007, 11:55 AM Saw it Friday night and was totally blown away. The footage was incredible, but the interviews were the highlight. Too bad Neil Armstrong didn't particpate. I would have loved to hear his recollections. One of the funniest segments is at the end when they address the whole "faking it" conspiracy. Hilarious. Jim NCC1701A 10-07-2007, 06:29 PM You mean it wasn't faked? Thank gawd, never bought in to that conspiracy. Nova Designs 10-08-2007, 04:14 PM That looks COOL, thanks! jheilman 10-08-2007, 10:37 PM One of the best documentaries on Apollo. I actually saw a couple scenes (at least) that I'd never seen before. The interviews were great and Mike Collins is always entertaining. Armstrong was missed as well as a few who have passed on (Shepard, Conrad), but those who did participate are compelling. Go see it if it comes to town. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
