I'm new to collecting (I inherited quite a few cars, JL, Hot Wheels, and Muscle Machines.) I need to find some good sites to get values of cars. If any one knows of any good price guides please let me know.
Thank you,
Sean,

Here are a couple of questions as to why you are new to collecting.
Are you in it for profit?
Are you in it for Investment?
Are you in it for the joy of taking someone for a ride (meaning gouging, scamming or finding a fool so that you can take his/her money)?
If you are in it for any of the above, Recommend you get out before you loose your shirt.
If you are in it for fun, I recommend that you inventory what you have and then googleeach item on Ebay to get a close figure of what each item might be worth.
Price guides for Hotwheels can be foud in book stores. Muscle Machines, I would check out that forum. Johnny Lightning, it is recommended that you check Ebay and Tomart's.
I hope this helps and welcome to the boards.

Are you aware of the chase car versions? They bring a lot more then regular release.
White Lightning, Treasure Hunt... etc.

Welcome to Hobby Talk... Computer guy says it all Dude... Diecast collecting is a great hobby, but my advise is for fun only... I know of no one who has made a living out of it... It's alot like the stock market, one day you got a car worth some big bucks and the next day ya can't give it away... I have paid big money for certian cars and traded them for a 3 dollar car, or cut them up for the wheels or to make a custom of it... It's about the love and admiration for the hobby, how cool ya think the car or truck is, not the value of every car... If your gonna be a true collector, don,t worry about the value of each car, build yourself a nice display and go for it...
I have collected for almost 45 years and have invested and lost alot of money, but I don't care about that... The enjoyment I get out of sitting in my playroom and admiring my collection is priceless !!!http://photos.hobbytalk.com/data/500/10-7_Playroom_1.JPG http://photos.hobbytalk.com/data/500/10-7_Playroom_wall_of_fame.JPG

Welcome aboard Sean, I hope you will spend some time hanging out with us here on HT.
And Mustangman...WOW! I have seen the pics of the cases, but that's the first time I have seen the full wide toy room shot! FANTASTIC! I love the race track on the floor.
