First let me say at the outset that I do not buy my MM as an investment, I buy them because they are cool.

That being said, I find it amusing that MM are practically being given away on epay. Limited edition cars get no bids. One in particular that used to sell routinely for over $200 now gets no bids at $25. :rolleyes:

be interesting to see what the re-emergence does for resale values.
will be particularly interested to see what happens to value of 1;18 pieces as there is no talk of MA doing that scale. there is talk of 1;24 cars coming some time in 2008.

so the big stuff could be regarded as cool old curios... who knows. time will tell.
seeing that i've never actually sold off anything, this is purely academic to me, though i guess it afffects the few times when i've bought on the secondary market.

I also don't collect for monetary reasons, but I have to agree about the lower prices/values of some of the more limited edition cars. I have bought 5 raw cars from e-bay over the past few weeks for no more than $5.00 a piece.

So, the new GTO Chase cars are on ebay with a $19 Buy-It-Now and no takers. Like I said, MM is going to have to work pretty hard to re-establish its market. When no one even wants your chase cars, it's not a good sign.

I'm glad to see this. Scalpers that snatch these up thinking they are going to make handful of $$$ and can't move them. Too funny! Just disappointing for those of us that do truly apreciate these cars.

I think the whole JL chase maddness has put a real sour taste in the hobby.
Whenever you get people speculating that don't realy know the specific hobby, it messes everything up royal.
Like any market, it peaks then crashes. Get read for the big crash, guys!

I bought some Muscle Machine cars, but when I saw them for $1 at a dollar store a few years later I got turned off. The last Muscle Machine cars that I bought were the 5th anniversary cars at WAL*MART. My local WAL*MART never got the new Mucle Muscle cars. I wouldn't buy them anyways.

I bought one 1/18 scale Muscle Machine car when WAL*MART had them.

i started MM's with preordering since they were supposed to be exclusive,and what do you know,after first year they show up at walmart,so much for exclusive,have some extras i give 3 for not counting tax,couldn't get 3 for them,so off in boxes they go taking up space,any interest in these from year 2 or 3? let them go cheaper than what i paid for them ;(
