Hello,

I am new to this forum and I have read quite a few enlightening threads. To start I purchased an old 86 Snapper Rear Rider with an 11hp B&S motor. The gentleman I purchased it from told me that it hasn't run for several years, and it just quit one day while he was mowing...no bang, explosion or smoke. I paid $75 buck for the machine. I've taken all the external parts off the motor and while taking off the head I noticed the intake valve didn't close all the way...what I found was the throttle valve (#130 on page 5 of PDF) had come off the shaft and fell into the intake valve chamber practically blocking the intake valve to close all the way. What I didn't find was the screw (#95 on page 5 of PDF) that holds the throttle on! I thinking... this carb has been removed previously and someone lost the screw and just figured the throttle fit quit snug and won't come out the shaft...well they were wrong. Along with that I need a diagram on how to put the governor linkage in its proper setting. The mower had only two links attached (page 6 PDF #202 and something similar to #216, It didn't have a #232 attached). I also noticed that one of the magnets on the inside of the flywheel had come off. Need to know how to glue it back or do I need to replace the flywheel? And finally can someone tell be where part #268-271 goes... I don't remember seeing this piece on the engine either?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

#268-271 is the remote throttle control, its usually attached to the riding mower and just the cable clamps on to the throttle control assembly on the engine.

I have seen the screws come out of the throttle butterfly many times, sometimes the screw gets imbedded in the top of the piston or cyliner head, but sometimes it makes it all the way through and into the exhaust.

I will see if I have a diagram of the linkages that I can put up for you, I am not sure if I have one or not, will check this evening when I get back to my house.
