We get together for a big 4 or 6 lane race every Memorial Day. This last race, a topic of conversation was creating an AFX "slick" turn.

This would be accomplished by identifying a 180 degree curve and keeping it wiped down with Armour All throughout the race.

As you are aware, Armour All makes smooth things very slick. We thought this might be a fun twist for our next race.

Any thoughts?

One thought that comes to mind right off is how long would it take for the Armor All to wear off or would you have to "remove" it with some sort of chemical? Maybe someone else can answer that.

Would you have to slow down so much in order to navigate the curve successfully that the car could not gain traction to take off due to the Armor All making it so slick?

Test it and see and let us know!

Jim,

I heard about someone who did this on the entire track as he heard it would increase traction on his track. Turns out he didn't like the way the cars ran around the track and had a really hard time getting the Armour All off the track. You might consider using some Model Motoring track in your layout as it has non magnetic rails.
