From what I've seen with Macthbox they usually only print the same of one car during each run. WIth a possible variation or chase in some cases as of late, such as the taxi cabs. I found these two vans todays, one has a purple tampo and the other has a black tampo. Is this common on this van, did I find an error or is this some sort of chase? I've only seen the purple one and usually alot in each store. Thanks y'all

I have seen several of the purple ones. I think it is just a color change.

I think it's a variation. Both have been showing up here, but all 3 I have were black striped. Only one still has the stripe, though -- the other two are, well, indisposed at the moment...

I spoke with Michael Heralda about this. He is the guy at Mattel who created the design of the Chevy Van. Basically he was looking at the original 1979 Chevy Van as inspiration for this, and noticed that it came with different color side stripes on the original orange release. So he decided to have a little fun with this one.


It is officially classed as a variation on the model.

They are not chase vehicles. Just a simple tampo change. They are having fun. The original Orange model was available with many different stripe combinations.

Also some window variations. Blue, green & red.

All of mine have the same window colour I think

The yellow with black & red stripes has at least 3 window variations. I believe there is an orange windowd variation but if so I don't have it. The blue and red striped one has clear and blue windows. The blue and white striped vari only has blue windows. This is all to the best of my knowledge.

hi guys the one i have on the short card is the black one i have not seen the purple one i will grab it if i see one .
