Hey there races it's just ONE week till the points start on the short track of Hobby Town USA in Glen Burnie. That's right NEXT Sunday is the points series opner and if today's Dave Mease Memorial race was any indication of what we'll see this season LOOK OUT things are already fast. Here's the rundown on the race today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks the race is run and the day is done. Now that the dust has settled we have a new high lap count. The 4 cell stock racers were still in the usuall lap count area, BUT the 13.5 racers REALLY kicked it up a BIG notch. I don;t have the final qualifing lsit but the pole in 13.5 was set with a 80 PLUS lap run.

For those who were at Dave's race and those who are going to join us for the season. We will be continuing the 50/50 EVERY race day till the last points race. That's right every week there is a chance to get some cash back in your pocket if you buy that one right ticket. For those who might want to return the weekly winnings it will go back into the half we plan to send to the American Diabetes Association. Thats right HALF of all the 50/50 money is heading to the cause and the rest will be going to the individuals who win weekly. Now for those who win and would want to give some or all to the cause that would be very very cool. I do understand that gas,food and the cost of racing is not cheap so I understand that there will some winners that might not want to give back thier winnings. At this time so you racers can get things together ALL CLASSES ARE TO WEIGH IN AT 41 OZ'S. This is not to penalize any one division of cars but rather to make post race tech easier. That and after checking the ROAR site that's where roar has placed the weight minimum. Roof hieght will be the usual 4 and 1/4 inches MAX the ride hieght will stay at 1/4 of an inch MIN.

As for the rookie class there will be a bit of easy going on them for the first few races. Hopefully by the time we get into the season all the rookies will have all spec bateries and motors. This is to make things easier for the rookie sponcors (mom and dad) to afford. As well as an attempt to keep things intersting enough for the rookies but still a bit slower.

Hey why don't you try to talk to the owner tomorrow and see how he feels about opening and starting earlier.

MAN O MAN did the 07 08 points series start with some suprises. We saw the return of some old faces and a some news ones. In the BIG news from today ...In stock is where the real WOW factor came into play. With TBRC's own Brian Mongold coming out of no where to put on a handling and speed clinic. Ole TBRC3 laid it down with a personal best of 76 laps in 4:01.?? which stood till the end of qualifying to be TQ YES Mr Mongold TQ'ed the A in stock on the first day of points. Must have been that motor and batery supplied by Bill A. The chassis however was the result of some testing and tuning by Brian and some real good tips from Dave Irrgang back at the Mease race.

After TQing the A main Brian went on to have a small problem on the start BUT came back to the front and stayed there for the win with a 74 laps run. In the post rce interview with Bill A, Brian was heard to say "must be the new pit crew" As for your truly it was a win in the B main with a real bad case of Earnhardtitis ( that need to get to the front no matter what)

Let's also give a WAY TO GO to a newcomer to stock Steve Marquis , who only a year ago was running rookie and not doing well. Now he's having fun with racing and driving like a totaly different driver in a good way. WAY TO GO STEVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention Steve had his personal best run today with a 60 plus lap run. Keep in ind previous bests were in the mid 50's

i think espn may replace monster jam with MONGOLOD jam CMON!!!!!!!!!! nice run brian. 13.5 brushless is fun! a big thanks to bill macaroni for letting me and robby use his cars to race today.robby with a new track record 84 401 and i think kevin and i both went 83 400.......wow had a great time till next time.

Round two is done and in short the 13.5 brushless just seems to get faster every race day. I don;t remember the lap counts or who did what right now BUT it was fast.

In good ole stock the MONGOLD express is STILL rolling along with yet ANOTHER A main TQ and win :woohoo: . I think next time I'll bring a fire extinguisher and hope to cool this streak off ................just kidding dude :wave:

That car gets any worse you'll have to start really working on it. Mine will be rebuilt for the next round I'll get it back to the ole 76 lap run car it can be :thumbsup:
