Ixo are plying a blinder with their Ferrari & Maserati models, the latest Maserati being the Indy, which was produced between 1969-74. The V8 engine came in three capacities - 4.1, 4.7 & 4.9 litres - according to the badge on the model, this is a 4.9. In all, just over 1,100 Indys were manufactured.

Strangely, Ixo are one of the few manufactures, who tend not to release alternative colours - so, as far as I know, it only comes in gold.

I thought the model might have a color change in a year or so.

I'm back for another look Steve.

Are the wheels plastic or metal?

Rubber wheels? Don't you mean rubber rubber tires? I'm asking about wheels.

I thought they might be plastic, but they look like they could be metal. The old Politoys models are metal, but it's hard to tell in some pictures.

Nevertheless, it's a very detailed model. I like it very much!

This pair are my Maserati Indy models. Both are Solido # 185 from February, 1971. Solido was the very tops in quality at this time and these models still look great at 36 years of age. These are very satisfying models and I continue to keep my eyes open for any Solidos of this era. - ranchero -
