As I've already got the Vantage Volante, I've been patiently awaiting the release of the Vantage coupe - and it was well worth it. A cracking model from Spark!

With the earlier DBS V8 & V8 Coupe, showing the differing front end styling - the Vantage being recognisable by the blanked off grille & inset lights.

That's a NICE trio Steve!

I've been wanting to ask this question. Where do you buy your 1/43 scales models? I'm sure 1/43 scale is more popular where you live, and perhaps can be found in hobby stores where you live. Can 1/64 scale Johnny Lightning and Greenlight cars be found in stores where you live? I know that you have no interest in 1/64 scale diecast, I just wondered about availability.

Few hobby stores in my area carry 1/43 scale models (it's just not that popular in the USA). I've seen Spark and several other makers in hobby stores, but never in quantity.

Ray,

I've replied in the Simca thread as to where I source my models.

As for 1:64 cars - they are completely the wrong scale for the UK. Collecters here tend to fragment. Bus collectors go for 1:76, cars are 1:43 (and getting ever more popular in 1:18) and trucks in 1:50.

The only 1:64 (or thereabouts) models I've seen are toys - the only exception were Vanguards trucks, which were released in the late '90s - they only lasted a couple of years - nobody bought them....

I replied to that thread Steve. Sorry, but I looked here second. In the USA, 1/64 scale in very popular. I know 1/43 scale has been popular for over 40 years, and was refered to as "International Scale". I started collecting 1969. Politoys models were the first diecast cars that I bought. Do you have any old Politoys models in your collection?

I only started as a collector in 1996 when Vanguards started to release 1:43 cars & vans - they reminded me of my old Corgi, Dinky & Spot On toy cars, which are long, long gone. So no, there are no vintage models in the collection - I think that my Vanguards Austin A40 van in Ransomes Lawnmowers livery is the oldest model - just had a look at my photobucket album - I haven't photograhed it

Most of my vintage 1/43 scale cars are long gone. Foolishly I sold them in the mid '90's. I had Politoys, Corgi, and Dinky diecast cars......few remain in my collection.
