ok its here the new carpet season, and we need help. tonight we had a small meeting to try and get some ideas on how to improve the club this season. firts thing after being in the new store for a year what do you think we should try to do to help both the store and the races? lighting? PA system in the back rooms? heating? next what classes do we want to run i know that some people want to limit the number of classes. i don't really like the idea but this is a club if its what everyone wants then it can happen. right nowfor are normal classes we got bolink, EDM, trucks, novice,18th limited and open, late model, as far as pan car i would like to see them come back but right now i don't think there will be that many i hope i'm wrong. as always 4 or more cars and there can be a class. one thing we do need is rules on paper this year so we can have them for the store to hand out to get some new people. the plan is right now is to run on oct. 14 as a warm-up day and a meeting to try and get some ideas on organizing the season, doors well open at 9 and racing at 11. next question when are we going to be able to get the scoring system to the store. ok i have gonr on way to long. just rember this is a club we need help from everyone to keep it up and running.

i'm always open for question and comments on here or i'll be at the track on fri. nights this winter

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes:
My brother is going to college in Cobleskill and looking to get into r/c racing. I'm getting him a T4 to run carpet oval with. Where's the closest place for him to race for the indoor season?

Thanks,
Matt

Not sure if there is anything closer, we race at Science & Hobby in Watervliet NY for the winter, about an hours drive from Cobleskill. Check the Clubs website for driving directions. CDRCRacers.com

Hey Guys,

Is anyone going to be running EDM, gearbox, 6 cell.. ???

For sure Jay. Always one of the more popular classes. If you want I could help you with a basic set up. We pretty much just stiffen up the cars with heavier springs and run black or bronze rears and very firm fronts, I run double blue pancar rf and single blue pancar lf.

I will teach you how on sunday so that will make all of are lives a bit easier. see you on sunday keith p.s. has the scoring system been deliverd to science and hobby yet because it was not there on sunday when i was down.

Kyle,

I don't believe we are going to be running @ Masters next monday because Kirt can't make it and no one else has posted that they will run the system.. so there hasn't been any talk about running there on MOnday night... call Kirt He prolly has the counting system @ his house..

By the way I plan on coming down on Sunday to T & T my Gearbox car for some carpet racing... I can run the system when its been steup and am willing to help out a bit with that...

i talked to kirt today and i'm going to stop by his place to pick up the system. that would deff. be a help jay if u can help us run things the more help we can get the better. just so everyone can get a heads up i think we are going to need to up the entry fee to $7 this year, and give 5 to the store to help with the extra cost of opening early for us to run i'll talk more about it on sun.

Hi Kyle,

Price:
If we are going to increase the price to $7, then you need to bring a WAD of singles or we need to encourage everyone to bring exact change. It was tough just keeping up with the change for the 10's and 20's last year.

What about the concept of a seasons pass, where you pay once with a nice discount, and then don't have to pay each week...

If we plan on using club motors, I think I have 6 or so and Kirt has about 15. We need to contact Todd and have him order a box. Or we can just let people run stock blue-can motors.

I am not sure I can make it down on Sunday, but here are a few more ideas.

Legends. Last year the rules were pretty lax, but it was really fun. The two areas I would like to discuss are 1)Bearings vs. Bushings and 2)tires.

- I think we should let people run any pan car tire because of cost. You can pick up used pan car tires for $2-$6 each vs almost $20 a set with tax. On our track at Autotask, we allow guys to run both and could not see any difference. Guys with a tire truer - are the ones with the biggest advantage when purchasing new spec tires.

- Last year a few people ran bushings in the front and rear axles. Many clubs went to bearings when Bolink stopped making the bushings - but they are back in p0roduction now. The bearings are much faster on the track, are far more durableand make for better consistency. We should clarify the rule this year.

EDM BigBlock: I think we should consider 19 turn motors. I think we can have more competitive racing rather than just going in circles at Full throttle.

And - we should set up a swap-n-sell weekend too.

PM me with your email address and I can send you the MS Word template for the S&H contract we used last year and the template for the sign up sheets.

- Bob

Kyle and all
You need to launch the "Old Version" of Autoscore as the new version does not work with the printer. However, don't blame Autoscore, as the bug is a documented one on the HP website with this HP printer incompatibility with Vista OS.
Recommendations are:
Write to Autoscore to see if he has a fix
Get a new printer
Whatever you do DO NOT DISTURB THE DIRT SEASON Database like happened last winter. If you guys need help let me know. But please please please back up the data before you switch to the new version

See Ya................At The Track

Hey guys I`m gonna post this again so if anyone is interested let me know.

I have a rc18t Fully loaded, with tons of aluminum parts, a custom painted latemodel body with wing, tons of extra plastic parts. Also included are 3 1100 batteries 2 reedy motors, 2 sets of rubber tires, and a ton of new parts as well. The car is used, and has been run about a season thru it. I`m no longer racing so its collecting dust. The batteries may need a couple cycles on them to come back to life.

Looking for $200.00, I can meet up anywhere in the capital district to deliever it!

well week two of warm-ups is in the books and once again it was a small but dedicated group, which helped me take time to fight with the compute, i think i have fig. out that thing took i little time to teach myslef how to set the heats up and put races together but i think we got it. some real good racing in all classes this week. i do want to give a shout out to a new racer that showed up in the 18th scale class, tom showed up and still had to by a charger about an hour befor we went green, with the help of a few other drivers he went out there and his and ran great was even giving us a run in the main, sorry that we did kinda beat up on. hard luck award this week has to go to ned, had the fast edm this week in the main untill alil late race rub put him on his roof. i will rember to up the laps in the main for the trucks and EDM. points start this week so if u haven't been the yet good time to start the track already has a good grove in it to make for some great racing as seen this week.

-Kyle

touring car, truck, and 18th scale, if u want to left, right, and fly in the air be at science and hooby fri. night, on-road and off-road racing starts between 7-715. and yes there will be timing and scoring

Hoping for more competition next week,

So you guys know, George has fixed the boiler this week and we have heat again in the front pit room. Heating in the back pit room was not as much of a problem, but we will be working on that and correct it before winter really hits.

I was also able to convince George to fix the lighting in the back pit room this weekend. He has some of it done, and I am hoping he will be able to finish it for this weeks race.

Just wanted to give you guys an update on the issues we had last year. If you need or would like something else done, please let me know. I will work on George. He has a lot of projects going on right now, so please be patient with us. Thanks and good luck this weekend!

Dee

PS- There will be TWO boxes of Joe for you guys this week. If it all goes, I will do that every week for you guys. :)

well what was going to be the first week in points didn't turn in to be one of the better weeks. to tell the truth i came home after listing to everyone and was in a not so good mood. after what was a not so good round of main i had many people come to me saying we need to this or that to clean up the racing. now i have always tried to get as many people as i can to be invovled since it is a club and the members are the ones that should be running the shows but i have seen that that is not going to work. 1st next week i will stack the heats myself, next i will be running one class and will have my eyes on the track each race and the black flag will be used if need be. i will do all i can do to get this club back to 60 plus enties each week but if i come home in this kinda mood week in and week out i will walk away right now. these are toys this is all about going out having a few laugh and some fun, that was deff. forgoten today.

Hey Kyle, hope my frustration didn't affect your weekend. It was heat of the moment and already forgotten. I was having one of the best races I have ever had with my son and would of liked to see it keep going. Unfortunately some people get caught up in the desire to win and forget the throttle works both ways and the racing is on carpet not linoleum. Just remember Kyle even with the complaining we still have a lot of fun and that couldn't happen without your hard work.

i understand what u mean mike there were three of u in that race that got a bad break and all for the same reason, there are no hard feeling toward you. but there is deff. going to be a meeting and there is going to be some changes i think i have been trying to be to relaxed on somethings and thats going to change everything will be fixed come next week, o and i think that keith had the transponder in his pan car still, i don't know if u seen it?

Marc, if u want to drop by science and hobby on fri. after 630 or any time on sun. we would deff. help get u back on the track. EDM rules, 27 turn stock or a club motor to run for points, once i get the rest of the to sell, 6 cell, EDM body. thats the basic rules any other questions i'll do my best to answer.
